If we only go with two pace bowlers and drop Harmison so Broad can play, I will launch an all out attack on Peter Moores and Michael Vaughan and Harmison may as well retire.

Mind you, I wouldn't put it past them doing something stupid like that. To me Swann has to play, I'm at the point where I don't even care if it's instead of Panesar.

Panesar was poor today of that there's no doubt, but I wouldn't play Swann instead of him. If Hoggy is fit for Galle it makes things interesting if we play two spinners.

Hoggy and Sidebottom? Harmison has done quite well imo, impressed tbh, his body stood up too.

I have no problem in having Hoggard and Sidebottom, I know many on here will have though.

I wouldn't, as I've said I would rather play 5 bowlers but certainly in Sri Lanka the new ball is crucial and its the only time we get wickets so playing 2 top class new ball bowlers would be a smart move.

Mubarak needs to be droped from the Sri Lankan squad. He has 18 runs in 3 inings and he has nothing else to contribute to the team, he oesnt bowl at all, Dilshan would be a good replacment as he can bowl and is a excellent fielder.

Meanwhile Moores seems determined to bring in as many good county players as possible and seems determined to keep them in the team to prove his own point. I sense Harmison getting into the squad was more down to the other selectors.

However that would be unfair on Ravi Bopara who needs a chance to prove himself. Bopara should bowl a bit more than he is now. If he's there to add to the bowling he should bowl more and as well as Collingwood

The question is if and when Hoggard comes back who's going to replace him?

Well it is now confirmed as a draw, rained during the tea break. We were cruising home anyway, on 250-3. What is worrying is our batsmen are not converting fiftys into hundreds. Cook 62, Vaughan 61, Bell 54, once you get to those scores on dead pitches you need to cash in and get the big ones, not give your wicket away.

Good draw for England today.

However, the one thing i am annoyed about is the fact that we get into a decent position (351 ao) and then we seem to loose control and let sri lanka get to 548-9 dec.

It is the same with the first test we bowled a very strong side out for 188, the reply ( 281) wasnt bad, but then we seemed to let go and they got to 442-8.

I don't know why we keep doing this, but i have faith in Peter Moores to sort it out.

Moores county policy has worked hasn't it?

I think Harmison was always going to get back into the team once he proved his fitness, however much he's gone off the boil, he's still liked by his team mates and selectors and hated by opposition batsman.

are you talking about the keeper Silva, because i agree with you. he has been playing good for Sri Lanka A.

Talking about Chamara Silva isn't he?I agree Dilshan is a quality all round player should add something to the fielding which has been poor so far for Sri Lankan standards.Never heard of Welegedara doubt he will play anyway they'll opt for Malinga Bandara i think.

Bandara will play since Galle is a spinners paradise like I said earlier. However since the damage to the ground, nobody knows what the pitch is like but surely the two spinners will have to be played.
