England in Sri Lanka

3 days before the game and the stadium looks like having no chance of being ready for Tuesday, leaving it this late is a big problem, if it's not ready come Tuesday morning (the pitch should be irrelevant in this) then the Sri Lankan Cricket Board should be punished by the ICC, it's unacceptable.

The pitch is fine just the rain that has caused the problems with the outfield and all the other work

Why the hell has Anderson been excluded from the 12 ? He was our best bowler over the summer by a long shot, and looked in good form in the 1st test, but they've decided to go for a possibly injured Hoggard, and an uncapped, over-rated spinner in Graeme Swann. Jimmy's a shoe in for a test place as far as i'm concerned, theres not been a better bowler for England in all forms in the past year.

England might play two spinners which is why Swann is in the squad.

The Galle ground looks in a right state and does not look like conditions for a test match. There might be a safety concern if the rain continues to fall and sog up the outfield.

Anderson was awful in Kandy, and Sidebottom was our best bowler over 2007.

Going at five an over in a test match is ridiculous.Wouldn't have minded but he only got 1 wicket in the second innings.Hoggard is fit otherwise he wouldn't have been included.I also fail to see how Swann is over rated.

Also, James Anderson has a terrible record in Test Cricket and except at Lords in the Summer against India he hasn't put many if any match winning performances for England. I am obviously not biased because I like James Anderson because of hics Lancashire roots but he needs to get his act together otherwise he could kiss that Test Career goodbye.

Graeme Swann bowled beautifully in the one-day series and should be playing in Sri Lanka because pace hasn't been a threat to top order batsmen past the ten over mark. Add that to Monty Panesar needing some support whilst he is going through a lean spell, Swann has a good chance of playing.

My Team for tommorow

Cook
Vaughan
Bell
Pietersen
Collingwood
Bopara
Prior
Sidebottom
Hoggard
Harmison
Panesar

i think swann will do well,he looks like a good cricketer

I don't like the idea of playing Swann in a Test. I'd like to see him be a ODI exclusive.

Also, if you don't play Broad in this Test Match then you've pretty much wasted his debut.

England have been inconsistant with this new ball and have wasted the chance for early wickets. The bowlers must be rotated do to the hot condtions and I would give Bopara a go sometime thi session.

I thought Swann could of played instead of Bopara which would have given the best chance to get 20 wickets.

Sidebottom got the wicket with an inswinger. Finally something in the right area!

Sidebottom got a wicket, Vandort for LBW, and it was clearly going over the top of the stumps.

However. England had no luck at all in the first two Tests so we deserve a bad one going our way.

england have got two early wickets but they need to remove sangakara and jayawardene soon.

There was a chance it was going over the top, can't say for definite with decisions like that.

Indifferent start, we could have bowled better, 95-2 isn't bad, but they have their best batsmen in, we need just one more! Quickly too!

Harmison has gone off injured, his back again, that's the risk though.

Well done Vaughan, in that situation many would have gone to spinners. He kept Harmison on and 2 balls later he gets Silva for a single caught by Bell at first slip.

138-4, Harmison has been very good. :)

Harmison has been bowling very well it seems. So much for his homesickness. It's only when he tours Oz.

What a superb session from England! 11 overs for only 15 runs! Awesome!
