Day 5 Session 3

Well this session will decide it, despite having the new ball i was only able to get one edge, i still picked up some wickets, but New Zealand require 40 runs with 3 wickets remaining. Cairns (who looks out of touch) and Vettori are at the crease, glad i got Styris out as he was looking good. I think this one will go down to the fact i batted pretty poorly in my second innings, another 40-50 runs and i could attack more, as it is im having to stop the runs, im ready to settle for the draw at the moment, if i can get it :onpc

I am going for NZ in this one. Though they have only 3 wickets left, 40 runs in 2 hours is very much getable.

Nice read mate.

Lol i know but when im under pressure i seem to play better, when bowling at least. The past session i kept it really tight, run rate is around 3 an over now down from 3.50+. But yea your right they should win, still you never know with this bloody game

Day 5 Session 3

Well i cant believe how much i have enjoyed this game, i think sometimes i dont have patience but today i learnt a lesson. Be patient and results will happen. I have just played, and won, by 4 runs, yes four measily runs. Whats more i had to work my arse off, curse every bouncer that missed my wicket keeper, and blame myself for every no ball trying to get the run meter up that one extra notch. It all started with a type of wicket that i have seen alot of in this game (mainly due to cpu difficulty at 0.20000 and edges turned down so i really have to work hard to get them). Variation in pace at last caused cairns to mi**** his shot to cover. Little did i know it because they put up fight after this wicket but it was to put me on my way to victory. Tuffey arrived, and despite having batwindowsize at 3.0, i bowled him first ball with Hoggard. Just JUST short of yorker length, he tried to block it and missed. (you know the type of ball and block, the one u do alot and it misses and the cpu slips the ball under your bat). Then bond came to the crease with just a dozen or so runs required. I couldnt believe it as he twice drove me through the covers despite my tight field settings. Then wham two fast hard yorkers finding the edge of the bat, missed the 3rd slip each time. I had pretty much given up, when i heard ritchie say, New Zealand require 4 runs. I thought ok the yorker worked for the last wicket, it can work again. I decided to bowl 4 off cutters of slow to medium pace just outside off stump, all for no runs. Then a chose a normal delivery, just short of yorker length, going for off stump, full power, the dot sliding across the middle of the ball as it was released, have it, it got through, Bond played above the ball and i had won, by 4 runs with less than an hour left to play in day 5. I bowled for 123 overs, it felt it aswell but i cant explain how satisfying this victory has been. On a down point Collingwood has been injured and will miss the next game at least, i havent decided to replace him with another all rounder or go for an extra bowling option. The fact that has pleased me in this game, is New Zealand fought, and fought hard, all their batsmen bar there last two played well, very well. Just how it should be, god i love my patch :cheers

2nd Game - West Indies Vs England At Kingsmead

England win the toss, its dark and the skies are grey here at Kingsmead. There is a good chance of rain for the full 5 days. I win the toss, no qualms on putting in West Indies here.

Day 1 Session 1

Well the windies are off to a mare. The conditions were bowler friendly but this just isnt good enough. England have bowled well, bowling wicket to wicket deliverys allowing little if any room outside off stump, which means most times the windies have had to takw risks to score. The difference in skill between the teams was big enough already but these conditions have increased that ten fold. England could well be batting before tea on the first day. Needless to say All 4 seamers for England (S.Jones picked to replace the injured Collingwodd) have bowled superbly. Maintaing line and length and keep the Windies to under 3 runs an over. Englands session, and then some.
