SriLanka Need To Score At A Quicker Rate Now
SriLanka have lost both the openers now and now whole responsibility is on M.Atapattu and K. Sangakara to get the scoreboard ticking . E.Haque is spinning the bowl well and is causing a few problems to the batsmen . Sangakara is playing well waiting for the ball to come on the bat and then picking up singles and then getting the odd boundary . On the other hand M.Atapattu is not taking any risks and is also not getting hold of the ball properly and mostly not clearing the infield also ..... this has affected the run rate of SriLankan innings .
16th over : S.Rasel brought back into the attack after his 1st spell of 4-1-26-1 getting the crucial wicket of S.Jayasurya. There was some change in the field there was no fielder on the boundary on the offside and 4 men were inside the circle in catching position . Rasel pitched the ball on the off-stump Tharanga went for the cover drive but he played the ball a bit earlier which went in the air and was caught safely in the covers by Baisya . SriLanka lost their 2nd wicket for just 65 runs in their 16th over and still the run rate was poor . If Bangladesh get another wicket now then they might restrict SriLanka to a low score .
But the new man is SriLanka's most consistent batsmen K.Sangakara .He is in tremendous form and also plays well on any wicket . Now he has to build up the partnership with M.Atapattu and also he needs to score at a faster rate .

Bangladesh made a change in the bowling and brought left arm spinner Enamul Haque for the far end . He is a good spinner and has the potential to keep the runs down as well as to provide the breakthough . He was keeping the line right on and around the offstump and was spinning the ball away from the right handed batsman . M.Atapattu was having some problems playing the spinner and was finding it difficult to score . This eventually affected the run rate of the SriLankan innings. But K.Sangakara was playing beautifully and was rorating the strike and also he was hitting the odd boundary . M.Atapattu then also supported him by picking up singles and then he was using the bowlers pace by playing fine sweep shot and also got one timely boundary.
Enamul Haque to Atapattu and Sangakara:
SriLanka innings is now going along nicely and the scoreboard is also ticking along nicely . Both the batsmen havve gained confidence and now they are playing well and rotating the strike as well which is the important thing which SriLanka need if they want to get this partnership going . Currently the partnership between K.Sangakara and M.Atapattu is of 68 runs and Sangakara is playing well on 39 and Atapattu on 38 . Bangladesh will be facing some bowling problems as they still have a problem of the 5th bowler . If this partnership continues then Bangladesh will be in some spot of bother and now they need a breakthough despirately

SriLankan's are now feeling that there are not much over left in the innings and still they have 8 wickets in hand so they are taking the risk and playing some big shots . K.Sangakkara is playing well and is middling each and every ball while M.Atapattu has now gained confidence and is now scoring at a quicker rate condisidering the slow rate at which he was scoring in the start of the innings.
Atapattu was playing the sweep shot well and got most of his runs on the legside . He was not finding the gaps on the offside but he was picking up singles at regular intervals and giving strike to Sangakkara. Sangakara was smart cricket by hitting a boundary and then scoring just 1's and 2's .
SriLanka on Top :
M.Atapattu then quickly reached on 46 with a boundary and then tried to play a slog sweep again on the next ball of E.Haque but he got a top edge and there were cries of catch it from all the Bangladesh fielders. T.Baisya was on the fine leg boundary and came charing in for the catch and made a good attempt diving forward for the catch but he dropped it as he was never in a position to catch it . In the end it was a good attempt by T. Baisya but that went down as a drop catch and Atapattu managed to covert that singel into two comfortably .
Atapattu survives :
34th Over :Both the batsmen have gained much confidence and are not afraid to play the big shots .E.Haque bowled a fulltoss to Atapattu and Atapattu came down the track hammered that to the legside boundary for a huge six .Atapattu reached his 50 in style with that big six. on the last ball of the over Sangakkara also reached his half century by picking up a single .Both the bastmen are now looking dangerous and this are ominous signs for Bangladesh .
Atapattu and Sangakkara scoring Half Centuries:
100 Runs Partnership:K.Sangakkara and M.Atapattu have shared a 100 Runs Partnership between them for the 3rd wicket . This is a very vital partnership as they have read the condition of this track and now they can excell and score quickly as they have done in the last 4 overs . Both the batsmen will now look to stay till the end and get a good score on the board . Lets take a look at the wagon wheel ......we can see that both the batsmen have scored mostly on the lefside thats because the spinners were bowling and they were scoring by playing the sweep shots but Sangakkara has played shots on both sides of the wicket . This is a good and quick partnership for SriLanka and is a vital one as they needed that at this stage . Sangakkara has score 50 runs of te partnership while Atapattu has score 41 but at a faster rate than Sangakkara.

Catches win matches... Atapattu dropped and now Bangladesh are facing the consequences as he is going well at the moment!!! SriLanakans are definitely on the comfortable platform.... Hope they will get some total around 330!!!
