Feb 27 - India v England

A lift in bowling performance can help India in that quest. Remember they are not bad bowlers. They just are not coming to terms with the run flow that happens on subcontinent wickets. Indian bowlers are more lethal when there is some juice in the wicket.

I still think India can lift their bowling performance to complement their batting and have a serious shot at the cup.

Bro no disrespect, India have probably the best batting line up in the world. But a bowling unit who gives 280 to Bangladesh and cant even defend 340 in home agents England is BAD….. I cant understand why they can play 5 bowlers because anyway they have a very good top order. And one thing for sure, if u want to win the world cup u need a best bowling attack not batting

Honestly Haarithan and Dipak just shut up. So irritating. Stop pretending to be English. It's childlike and wannabeish.

And Highlander, Strauss deserved it. You'll probably disagree with this but Bresnan's five-for was pretty damn lucky. It was more the batsmen playing really silly shots than him earning those wickets.

All the people saying england should won it or India should have won it, it could have easiliy gone either way and both teams will think they should of won it but is was a fair result though I'm still annoyed England didn't win. Also what happens with vbookie, do we get anything for a tie?

Your money back, I'm guessing.

It's always difficult to hold your nerve in the 49th over, especially in a match which was swinging from one edge to another with every ball.

Dude, I don't care. This is international cricket, and Piyush Chawla has been picked for the WORLD CUP TEAM. He is expected to perform in these situations, why are you defending him like he is some kind of child?

We should also not forget that Chawla did take the wicket of Bresnan who could well have taken the match away from us in the 50th over considering the kind of aggression he was bristling with.

Agreed. But lets also not forget the kind of loose tripe he bowled all through the match. And after those two sixes, the damage had already been done.

I too would drop Chawla in the next match, but let's not suddenly make this kid an object of taking out our anger when all our bowlers under-performed.

Agreed, but he's no kid. Again, he is playing for India in the WC, no excuses.

My main gripe was how uninspirational Dhoni's captaincy was. He was just letting Bell and Strauss pick up singles on whim. Where was the innovative thinking? He should have brought the field up, cut off the supply of singles, and forced the two into earning their runs by hitting risky shots. In the end, Dhoni got lucky because Strauss did it for him with the powerplay. Piss poor captaincy till that point imo.

I don't know about him but mention a single post where i did anything harmful towards the Indians ! Never thought supporting England was that bad a mistake in India ! Prior was pathetic and i had always favoured Davies or in this case , even Kieswetter ahead of him . How on earth do you classify that 'childish/wannabeish' ??

* END DISCUSSION *

We have to , because we din have the option of betting over a 'tie' . Imagine the Odds for that to happen :p

Great game, horrible pitch. Seriously, how can people put up tracks that allow 700 runs in a game and keep getting away with it? What happened to battle between bat and ball? Extremely disapointed, and the hope I got from the Australia vs New Zealand Nagpur track is now lost.

That said . . . what the hell is wrong with our bowling? Even Dhoni looked lax. We won't be in the tournament for long if we struggle against the English batting.

Being nervous in the 49th over is no excuse for India, Swann and shazad in the same boat, they're gonna be nervous as hell aswell.

The question now is who tops the table from here , definitely a 3 horse chase between India , South Africa & England . Who gets the chance to play NZL (no offence meant towards NZL) ?? Judging by what has happened so far :

India vs New Zealand
England vs Sri Lanka
South Africa vs Australia
Bangladesh/Holland/WI vs Pakistan

If not convinced , just swap England & South Africa . An Ashes QF would be an absolute treat to watch then .

Still think India will win the WC with this attack :lol

If that chunky bastard Swann would've hung onto that Sehwag catch 1st ball grrrr. Swann should not be at 2nd slip or any slip in limited overs. He never takes the rippers and is starting to drop the semi-tough ones.

Glad I didn't watch the whole game, 700+ runs scored in 100 overs is just not cricket to me.
