Feb 27 - India v England

I don't want England to get Australia in the quarter finals, simply because they beat us in 6-1 in the odi series.

I said it earlier, and I'll say it again, I don't think the bowling was as horrible as everyone is making it out to be. They basically got Strauss and Bell out a combined 6 times (2 actual outs, 4 missed opportunities by fielders, and bad decisions by umpires), and got everyone else on England out with relative ease.

If Dhoni appeals on that nick like he should have, or if Bowden reverses the calls like he should have, or if Harbhajan and Kohli take a routine catch, England might not have gotten nearly this much.

Can't believe the fact Mirpur has 2 QF games while India as a whole has only 1 in Motera . India playing NZL in Premadasa , Colombo should they top the group and NZL finish fourth is no cakewalk for India after what happened there 12 months before . Styris beat India by 6 runs while Ross edged them by 1 run :p

And India can absolutely win the WC with this bowling. There's no 2007 Australia out there. Everyone's got glaring holes.

Well if the fielders didn't take the 4 chances, they didn't 'basically' get them out, the fielders play a part in completing the wicket and if they failed they didn't 'basically' get them out.

You could also say sewhag was 'basically' out 3 times if it wasn't for the fielding.

And any idea on how serious is Broad's injury ?? And i hope people don't forget Jimmy's heroics in the Ashes after this WC .

Glad I didn't watch the whole game, 700+ runs scored in 100 overs is just not cricket to me.
.... there were 676 runs scored.

I hope we don't meet India. I'd probably shoot myself if we lost to India in a QF, SF, or Final.

Sorry but the stakes are too high
Hehe, I would take that as an Indian fan. We still haven't lost a WC game to Pakistan. :)

Which is why I don't want to face India, and that too in India.

If India does end up 3rd or 4th in their group and Pakistan 1st and 2nd, I say we throw a game so we don't have to play India. I wonder if we can just concede a game by the rules if we want to, because I would consider it (although if the other team is South Africa, bring on India).

1. These weren't difficult opportunites. They were easy catches (the Kohli slip drop, and the Harbhajan drop).

2. The Bell LBW non-decision was out. The Strauss nick was out, but Dhoni didnt appeal. These were 2 wickets the bowlers should have gotten. Had nothing to do with fielding.

3. Sehwag's drops weren't anything like the Strauss/Bell drops. The difficulty level isn't even close.

If the fielders fielded decently rather than horribly (they didn't even have to field well, just OK) , the bowlers would have looked much better. IMO, the fielding was our downfall today, along with some bad luck.

No, should have been abandoned really. There wasn't an event for a 'tie'. So, this had to be abandoned.
