FOOTBALL Football Manager Discussion

Bit of an update on my Villa save (well formerly Villa save :p)

After taking charge of Man City in December 2012 when they were placed 14th after a run of poor form and poor spending (O'Shea for £15mill ) I began by deciding not to spend big for the year even though January was right around the corner as I didn't want to upset the already fragile Team Harmony. We started with a win and carried on slowly grinding out results with my own defensive version of Chelsea's system, 1 defensive midfielder (Gelson Fernandes) two centre midfielders sat infront (Joao Moutinho and Fernandinho) with two attacking wingers (Jonas Gutierrez and Yury Zhirkov) and the one striker (Robinho). Had very good results with it and was able to take the League Cup and secure 6th place which I was very proud about, finishing 2 points behind Aston Villa my old team.

I spent a bit of money in the summer that followed on Akinfeev and Veloso (From Villa) kept the same tactics as last year and started to plough through the season and was met with similar results as last year. Sadly the same couldn't be said about my former team who could only manage a lowly 12th at the end of the year. I ended the season in 4th place securing an elusive Champions League spot.
Arsenal won the title for the 5th year running under new Manager Gary Neville whom took over after Arsene retired which made me laugh at the unrealisticness of it all.

This summer I decided to go absolutely bannanas with the money I was given and proceeded to spend £150 million mostly on the best English regens I could find and I must say I'll be dissapointed if I don't manage to get 2nd in the league with an aim to challenge Arsenal for the title.

The 2014 World Cup has just taken place aswell and it was giant killer fest with Spain Germany and Argentina not making it past the Group stages. The Semi Finals saw England vs France which England won quite comfatably 3-1 Bent getting two, Gerrard the other and in the other Semi Final Denmark took on Nigeria. Nigeria won it on penalties.
The Final went to penalties after a boring 0-0'er in which England actually won. Paul Ince was the winning manager.
Strangley enough the Nigerian FA decided to sack their Manager after the game for poor performance  and offered me the job which I refused out of hand.

Just resigned from Doncaster and took the Nigeria job.

I went 7 games without a win with Doncaster, then I had a win, then a loss again when i really should have won. I was almost going to resign after that until I beat Bristol Rovers 6-1. I then lost to Millwall 4-1 and I just had enough. I couldn't win away from home and I was looking at that Nigeria job for a week or 2. I decided to take that job. I think I left Doncaster in a good state though having brought some good players.

Yeah, but I was sick of doncaster. Besides, that save file stopped loading. The fm on that computer is really dodgy. We need to get a spare few hundred bucks so my dad can fix our other one and I can get back to my liverpool save.

Just won the league again :D. In the Dutch Hall of Fame now lol. This season I won the Charity Shield, League Cup and League. I'm in the final for the FA Cup and Champions League. Got Liverpool in CL.

FA Cup final vs Tottenham. I won 3-2. Despite the scoreline, I annihilated them. Whenever I looked certain to win, they clawed one back. It was a dominating performance by me.

Champions League Final vs Liverpool. 4-0 to me! What a game it was! From my perspective anyway :p. Pato is a legend. 2 goals from Pato and an Aguero strike put me 3-0 up at half time. I brought Insua, Garay and Mikel on in the second half. In the 82nd minute, Mikel was on the left wing 40 yards out. He hit it first time on the outside of his foot and smacked it in the top right corner. Best goal on FM I've ever seen.

I won everything this year. I am the best :p.

Selling Jimmy Briand for £15 mil after playing 3 games this season lol. Made a 5 mil profit. Buying Mario Balotelli for £23 mil though. Wonderkid in the making he is, in real life too.

In the English hall of fame too, ahead of Shankly lol.

Aguero named English Footballer Of The Year, Marcelo wins Young Player. Aguero wins CL golden boot and best player :D:D. Toni, Aguero, Marcelo, Rafinha, Terry, Ballack and Pato in CL dream team :D.

Toni ends with 28 goals and 22 assists in all competitions. Aguero gets 29 goals and 22 assists having played behind Toni! Pato gets 25 goals and 11 assists. Fantastic season allround.

Oh and I was Manager Of The Year...again. :p

LMAO! I can't believe I just signed Artur Boruc on a free. Celtic didn't offer him a new contract so I swooped in and picked him up. :D

Ive activated the game on one computer but when i install it on another it says ' some errors in installation please check installion log for errors.' or something like that.

Well i've decided to kick start this thread again with an extract from a diary I have going

Kevin Galvin - Team Bath

Funny how managing can dump you on your ass when you least expect huh? Two months ago I was confident about my position at the Darlington Arena and looking forward to starting with a clean slate and possible getting to league 1 the next season.

But alas George Houghton had different plans, I was shifted from my cofy office chair and into the dole office queue’s to pick up my Unemployment Benefit. Two months I spent every Tuesday, waiting on Hannover Bridge to collect my prized check from the Irish government, it was only Hannah’s new basketball contract that kept us living the way we were, and with the economy turning worse by the minute we had genuine fears if I couldn’t get a job

Then in stepped Team Bath, newly promoted from the Southern League it was going to be a challenge to keep them in the Blue Square North. Two former Cork City players led to my downfall when the Reading Reserves beat us 4-0, Shane Long and Dave Mooney the two in question. Then losses against Havant & Waterlooville and Southport only compounded the misery.

But some things are looking up, I’ve signed a number of unwanted players from my old friends in league two (Most notably James Morris and Adam Connellan) and got Bruno N’Gotty in centre back (Who we need badly, conceding goals at an alarming rate of 3.5 per game)

A mid-table finish would do nicely this season and hopefully if I do well enough I can restart my clamber through the leagues
