I'm defo not buyin FM09, 3D didn't work for ICC (based on reviews) and I am not convinced it'll work on this. FM08 with updated db's FTW!

Yeah, because you know all :. You can even predict how the AI will be in a match engine you have seen almost nothing of...

I'm just judging on the experiences of Football Manager 2008. I'm not saying it will definitely be god awful, because they might pull it out of the bag and be awesome, but I'm not going to be shouting about it claiming it's going to be the rebirth of the series, because I know from 08 that they can screw even a simple DB update up. I've not said that it's definitely going to be poor, just that I don't have high hopes. If the reviews are positive, and the 3d Match Engine is said to work, then I'll buy, but if the bugs exist and the engine doesn't work, I'll wait until the 9.0.2 Official update.

Noooo! What are they doing?! No 3D please, its so much better to use the 2D engine, I'd rather they perfected that then use this.

About 8 mins into part 2, it says that the option will be there to still use 2D .

However, what they have shown of the 3D match engine looks very good, and they have worked on it for 3 years. It is going to be the option I use.

Was just about to mention that. Well it looks to be a better game to be honest. Press conferences, female managers, new transfer rumours and re-done the whole transfer code etc.

Sounds promising. Looking forward to reading some reviews.

I'll use it, but only if it's good. Just because they worked on it for 3 years doesn't mean it's going to be automatically good though. One game that comes to mind is Prey, which was worked on for years, had brilliant graphics, but was about as enthralling as a dose of Bird Flu. If done correctly it could be genius on Si Games part, but if they make a botch job of it, like they did with the AI on Fm 08, then it could possibly ruin the series. We'll have to wait and see, I'm not going to judge until I've played it myself.

Yeah these new features look real good. I'm actually liking the look of a 3D engine . Of course the AI has to be good but I'm sure it will be enjoyable for me. I'll be getting this anyway as I usually do.

I doubt it will ruin the series tbh. If you don't like it then you can revert back to the 2D. Pretty simple really.

You can still use it .

I tell you what, I really am looking forward to FM09 now, after seeing that Preview, the 3D match engine looks great and its only 50% complete!

It also looks from the previews that the Conference North/South and premier are being focused on more, and that is great news! Keep up the non league football!

Bring on November 14th! I for one shall be buying it!

The 3D match engine's going to screw a lot of people over though. It'll be the final thing that pushes FM off of a CD and onto a DVD/Cd format, meaning it'll require a far, FAR larger amount of ram and drive.

It'll just need more memory and everything to run. It'll mean you'll need more disk space, and will probably mean people with a lowish grade, to middle grade computer will be fudged.
