FOOTBALL Football Manager Discussion

Just keep them both in the data file, you then select which Database you want to load when you start a new game.

As for this ridiculous spoiler situation, I just don't understand it. If you don't want to know about all the top wonderkids in the game, then don't pay attention to the lists and don't read the post. Sharing knowledge about the game is not cheating, we're discussing what young talents we've had success with, so that others can use our experiences and then decide whether they're worth buying. If we were telling people how to get unlimited money or something like that then fair enough, but sharing a list of top players is NOT cheating. Ridiculous.

It may not be cheating, but is it really that hard for people to just put spoiler tags over them for those who don't wish to see any names? I can see your point, but there's no point in arguing so just do as the mod says :p

Steven Defour is a quality player. Signed him for Everton and playing him just behind the front two is working wonders. City bought Cahill for 14 million which is rather crazy. I just thought 'meh' and bought Defour and Sakho. Great signings.

leave my posts alone you tit

No, but there are scouts in the game which do the same job as they do in real life in the game, it's how you use them.
You might as well just sack all your in-game scouts if you are going to just read names of players to sign...

You can't just "not pay attention" to the names, how are you meant to know what the post is going to be about before reading it? The text is just there without spoilers, it's not exactly avoidable, at least with it in spoilers you know it's going to contain names of wonderkids/tactics to use etc so you can decide whether or not to read it.

The spoilers still allow the text to be read the same as without them, just by people who want to read it, so it's not like you're losing out on anything by putting it in the spoilers.

And how is it not cheating anyway? Without these lists of top players, a lot of people wouldn't have a clue who to sign and would be terrible at the game, yet when they read these lists and sign the players, they win everything.
Gaining an advantage through no skill of your own is cheating as far as i'm concerned, and signing players from other people's suggestions is just that.

Well, you read the first line of a post, and if it says "here's a list of good youngsters to look at" or something along those lines, you ignore it. It's not difficult.

Also, I'll just get on the phone to the LMA and tell them to tell every club in England to sack their scouts, the managers should be using their vast football knowledge to buy players, not scouts........

Lol just chill guys.

Signed Rafinha, Aguero and Marcelo in a part exchange deal. I had to take Aguero off in his first match after 30 mins because he got a knock. Still beat Spurs 3-1. Rafinha scored :D. My team is coming along very nicely, may sign another central midfielder.

Who are you? City? What's your team atm?

[OMGTEHSPOILER]Rafinha's[/OMGTEHSPOILER] a machine, just bombs up and down the wing, has scored 3 goals already for me. [OMGTEHSPOILER]Michael Johnson's[/OMGTEHSPOILER] a gun as well. I use a rotation system, just give people a game after they've not had one for a while, so it was Johnson's chance to have a go for a Uefa Cup game. He set up 1 and scored, got MOTM. He might be getting used abit more :p. He's rated incredibly highly by my coaches, and has Arsenal chasing him, so giving him a few more First Team matches will be key if I'm going to keep him. Defour's still not been given a run in the team either, i've got such a class group of midfielders.

Why was my post put in a spoiler? Who hasn't heard of them three players?

I'm Chelsea on FM08. Won three out of three so far but I've got an injury crisis. Aguero, Shevchenko, Pizzaro and Drogba are low on fitness, they all got knocks in the match against Aston Villa. Rafinha got a knock as well. Bridge and Ballack are injured anyway.

How dare you, Mani. Naming three known players that are already established in world football and have a good reputation. How very dare you.

Shall I spoiler this post?

My team at the moment is:

Cech
Rafinha-Terry-Carvalho-Cole
Makelele
Lampard-Obi Mikel
Aguero
Pizzaro-Drogba

I get Terry and Carvalho to stay at the back, hold hands with the keeper. Makelele runs back to help them out as well. Rafinha and Cole bomb down the wing right down to the end. Lampard and Mikel stay in the centre. Aguero runs forward to help the strikers, Pizzaro and Drogba.

Good team there although I'd bring in another star midfielder.

My team changes EVERY game. There are about 3-4 changes per game as my team has too many good players to keep everyone happy.

Cech
Barragan-Samba-Nelsen-Warnock
Mattione-Motta-Piatti-D'Agostino
Cacia-Saviola

With Rafael Carioca, Briand, Buonanotte, Rafael Forster, Sergio Mota in the fringes and keep changing with the first team. I have Ramsey, Barkoth and players like that that come in for the easy cup games.
