Group B - Bangladesh, Bermuda, India, Sri Lanka

Really now you guys are the super powers of cricket man i wish my team had bowlers who chucked the ball. and man look at that slinger i wish my team had him so we could use STEROID INDUCED BOWLERS WHO HAVE AN ILLEGAL ACTION TO WIN.

loooool and what rock did u crawl out from. chukc this, steroid this. man fans like you give cricket a bad name sorry a$$ fools that cant accept that they got beat by a better team so they have to make stupid comments. i wish your team did have "steroid induced bowlers" so it would show that with steroids they still couldnt get anyone out. just because your country doesnt have a bowler who can bowl 150+ doesnt mean players from other countries are using steroids u nitwit.

Riddiculus honestly. Not a graceful loser are you. Instead of pointing fingers at other teams strengths and dissing them focus on your team. Gosh honestly. Steroids thats a new one. Is that the best you can come up with? come on you can do better

I had said this before (not the steroids though), but only got negative rep points!

i might just watch the match between bermuda and bangladesh for a while to see which way it will be going. if bermuda win, i will celebrate like mad!

Do you seriously still think that India shd progress to next round? nahh.. They dont deserve that..

The thing, is our bowling was so good this time and also the fielding.. but batting failed. 250 was clearly a gettable one especiallly with 7 batsmen. Tendulkar,Yuvraj,Ganguly and Dhoni were dismissed cheaply.. especially Tendulkar.. man who has faced many critical situation like this.. i expected a lots from him yesterday, but just disappointment resulted. Infact he is very expert in these qualifier matches!

Another biggest mistake is, they forgot the basics of playing full 50 overs which even teams like Netherlands & Canada do in recent times. Anyways, they didnt play well.. & hence lost. They have shattered the hopes of millions & millions of people around the world.

Not millions... Billions.. Wait that doesn't make it better.

Why is Dravid speaking up a little too early?

http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/wc2007/content/current/story/287008.html

What if Bermuda give Bangladesh a shocker??? Will Dravid then go into the second round having all these words hanging over him. Will the boys regroup themselves after these gloomy scenes and look to do well in the Super 8's.

If Ireland can beat Pakistan, I think anything can happen in this game of cricket, esp. the World Cup. And the ICC might just play up the trick and fix the game like what Justcrazy said.

So I feel Dravid is opening up a little too early.

I have thrown all those out of the window. This world cup has been full of surprises. A team that plays well on the day, wins. the tournament is organized in such a way that one shock defeat and you will be out of the tournament. So if India sneak through the back door into the Super 8's, I wont mind it.

The last tournament was more better organized. The teams were divided into two groups so that each team played a minimum of 5 matches before it crashes out. This way, one shock defeat allows a team to still come back! Thats what Dravid said in the interview with Cricinfo!

But then India had two shock defeats one against BGD and then against SRI so its fair. :noway

The whole point of changin the system was to get rid of many pointless matches and I think its allrite in a way. As top proffesional cricketing nations and having had 4 years to prepare and plan you shouldn't be really having shock defeats. So no point in blaming the tournament structure.

Was today's defeat a shock defeat? SRL were expected to win by an equal no. of people.

Whereas vs Bangladesh, an overwhelming majority of the people expected India to win!

Where did you have pointless matches? And have ICC really reduced the pointless matches? Instead they went on adding teams thereby balancing the pointless matches.

And its either a miracle (or something else fishy!) that some of these smaller nations have surprised the major cricketing nations and have caused a tremor in this World Cup! But I still maintain the previous format was better!

Maybe it was a miracle ireland outing pakistan but not bangladesh india i dnt think. Their a good team on their day and beat australia in 2005 and srilanka last year and the kiwis in the warm up game who were fielding a full strength outfit.

but i find it hard to belive that pakistan would get involved in match fixing. I mean after all the 99 WC speculation with the bangladesh defeat and recently with all the doping i mean did they really want more trouble?

I think the format is fine. What you'll end up having is the team that is most prepared and most consistent winning the tournament. It's just up to us to accept that India simply isn't that. It's sport, not a new student at a school, trying to fit in with everyone else. We simply haven't played good enough cricket to even attempt to lift the trophy, and I think it will be perfectly fair when we fly back next week.

Now, about Dravid, I enjoyed his candidness in the interview. I'm glad he reiterated the fact that people tend to forget about the players. If we feel this bad after bowing out of the tournament, imagine the feelings of the players! I think his crude attitude with the media was very honest and forthright. When you've just come off a disappointing match--what human being would want to think about whether they will be captain anymore or not? Complete disregard for human emotions by the press, in my opinion.

India do not deserve to be in the next round, it's as simple as that. It's just time to regroup and hope that we will have something better in store for our home crowds next time around.

Nothing wrong with the World Cup format. You got to take every game seriously in the World Cup and India's poor form outside the subcontinent cost them again.

Will the Indian team land in Mumbai?

If they do, then they better not. In latest news, sale of eggs has increased by 50%. The smell of rotten eggs on Nike designed cricket gear will be just amazing.

FORKING SISSIES!
