I think the format is fine. What you'll end up having is the team that is most prepared and most consistent winning the tournament. It's just up to us to accept that India simply isn't that. It's sport, not a new student at a school, trying to fit in with everyone else. We simply haven't played good enough cricket to even attempt to lift the trophy, and I think it will be perfectly fair when we fly back next week.
Now, about Dravid, I enjoyed his candidness in the interview. I'm glad he reiterated the fact that people tend to forget about the players. If we feel this bad after bowing out of the tournament, imagine the feelings of the players! I think his crude attitude with the media was very honest and forthright. When you've just come off a disappointing match--what human being would want to think about whether they will be captain anymore or not? Complete disregard for human emotions by the press, in my opinion.
India do not deserve to be in the next round, it's as simple as that. It's just time to regroup and hope that we will have something better in store for our home crowds next time around.
