Group B - Bangladesh, Bermuda, India, Sri Lanka

Well Done Sri Lanka. :clap

They showed a great allround display of cricket.
Bat under difficult conditions. Middle order gave a superb batting performance.
Bowlers bowled prety well.

Well Done guys. keep it up.
This world cup is yours!!!:happy

Where did you have pointless matches? And have ICC really reduced the pointless matches? Instead they went on adding teams thereby balancing the pointless matches.
Eh? The only pointless match in this World Cup was the Netherlands v Scotland.

He didn't make a great name, because he never got picked. As Gavaskar says, Amol is probably one of the finest batsmen in India today. He was in contention when Ganguly/Dravid were picked. He didn't even get one match!

I don't understand that when idiots like JP Yadav and Suresh Raina can get a match, then what's wrong with Amol?

Have you seen how he led Mumbai in this year's Ranji trophy. They were 0/4 at one point against Baroda.

Age factor !

yup...and also that Bhagat singh, Rajguru and sukhdev were hanged ! :(

really really disappointed....very poor show by the indians.
it was a good target for the indians. i mean, if they can get 255, then
they dont DESERVE to be in the next round.

Yes, he is old now, but he wasnt always old. It is amazing that he hasnt been chosen with those stats.
Ganguly also suffered at the hand of selectors. They picked him before 92 WC, and dropped after just 1 match. Then they didnt look at him for 5 more years. He should have played atleast in 96 worldcup.

That being said, we lost this world cup not because of selection, but poor batting.
How many times in last 17 odi's outside of india have we batted out full 50 overs? I think the answer it less than 5.

India really need to revamp selections in the bowling department as well as bring in youth in the batting department. There needs to be a pace academy in India because without bowlers of 140kph+, they cannot clean up tailenders.

They are not out yet and hopefully Bermuda can perform a miracle!

Sehwag has realised something very important though in this cup and that is that a strike rate of 100 is fine and that if that can be acheived, there is no need to try and bat any faster.

I think that's where Chappel went wrong. While you can't blame him for dropping Ganguly who was playing awfully, he put too much trust on the younger players. They should take responsibility too. Raina, Sreesanth, Kaif, Pathan all played very well to begin with but then they all collectively lost it. It just left Chappel humbled as the guys he backed failed to deliver. Then he had to go back to the old uns like Ganguly and Zaheer who played very very well.

India went around a full circle. 7 of the players in the 11 played in the last world cup final. I feel sorry for Kumble that he's gone through two world cups without playing a major part, something he's going to miss for the rest of his life. Another poor decision was to drop Romesh Pawar who was simply excellent in the middle overs, with great flight and turn. One must also remember that Tendulkar did a great job with the ball, so he wasn't completely worthless, though I'm disappointed that he failed again in a big match. It such a sorry state of affairs that I have to resort to:

Come on Bermuda!!!

Well atleast the positives from this are that the so called lesser nations are showing signs of improvement and competitiveness. I remember how before the World Cup started there were so many doubts over the presence of so many non-test playing teams.

hey i had my boards too.
now i hav to study hard for the entrance exams too :(

Chappel is just rubbish i think his main aim was to shatter the confidence of the youngsters and make our team develop the habit of losing
He really screwed up Pathan. He used to respond to all the critism by saying that his main goal was the world cup.Utter Crap
Now we know what he really wanted to do
I just hope we get a good replacement for him.Instead of going for a imported 'Chappal' we should get a Indian coach maybe Sandip Patil.
