No, Ganguly must go soon, as sad as it is, he was brought in for the World Cup and now that it is over, he must go as soon as replacements can be found.

I don't think there is enough talent there in India to replace big guns such as Saurav & Dravid.

TenCHOKER should go first!

What kind of a logic is that?
I dont believe in the too old to be in the theme crap. If you perform, you should be in the team even if you are 40. And if he performs there is no reason he can not play for 2-3 more years. Symcox made is debut when he was something like 37.
Look, how well Hussey is doing for australia. He also made his debut rather late in his career.

He returned for the World Cup and that was the main reason he was recalled. Why keep him, so that we have to quickly fill his place one year before the next World Cup?

So, you are saying other matches and tournaments doesnt matter?
Why keep him? If you kick the big wigs out, India would loose everymatch, would find themselves no. 8 in the rankings, starting at the bottom of the pit within next 2 years.
Cricket should be played tournament to tournament, albeit with an eye on the worldcup. And if he continues playing well why cant he play in the next worldcup either?
Its just a knee jerk reaction really. He should infact be made the captain, so he can stabilise the Indian team, and give it direction.

And, India isnt Australia, out reserve bench is as bad as our current players. kaif, Raina, Mongia etc have failed to deliver the goods. Thats why they werent picked.

ETA : Its exactly this kind of adhock policy of Selection Commitee lead by Kiran More and Chappel that got us into trouble. They thought they could do away with the experienced players, and build a better team. But, the younguns failed to deliver. In the process, India lost its way, it forgot how to win matches. It lost its competitive edge.

Of course he should continue as long as he plays well, but that will not be for ever and soon this form will end. Soon, you will have to look for youth to fill the ageing batting big three.

He said he does not want to captain.

Tell me, did anyone on our team look really hungry, bar Dada, Dravid, and Zak? Sehwag was finally comming into some sorta form, but we're lacking the hunger and we act way to 'gentlemenly'. People criticize Australia and SA for being too rude and brutal, well they get far with that attitude don't they?

Most of this post may be seen as rubbish as it IS a knee jerk reaction, but we must face the fact that our famed batting lineup was more fickle than my exgirlfriend.

One thing though, I really feel bad for Dravid...and Saisrini. Paavam.

I can't believe people want Ganguly kicked out. He's been our best batsmen in the last 15 games! If he's not going to be there for the next world cup, so what. Firstly, we don't know that for a fact. Secondly, why does every ODI game need to be played with the next world cup in mind? Chappel tried to prepare India for the world cup for the last two years and failed miserably. Don't think about the future when the present is so bad. The World Cup, prestigous and extremely important as it may be, isn't the only reason why ODIs are played and every ODI shouldn't be treated as a warm up to the big event.

i think Sourav is playing well and it makes absolutely no sense to drop him just for the sake that he might not play till the next world cup
that's what Kiran More and Chappel tried to do and while the youngsters performed for a while they couldnt continue to deliver.
Sourav was not just brought back for the world cup.He was brought back because the team was failing miserably and the selection policy of Kiran More had failed.
I dont think India has enough bench strength to replace our leading batsman.

ya keep the people who are in form. The problem is that it is not easy to drop established players even if they are not in form, and India is a prime example of that.

The players themselves should feel that they are not contributing, like Sachin he should know that it is time to step down and give others a chance. But it is not easy as it said.

The performance which India showed does not give them an opportunity to move to Super 8's. I hope this is a lesson which they will learn properly.

If India wants to build a captain then i say go with Yuvraj Singh or why not a bowler? Maybe Zaheer Khan? Lately hes been the only one leading the bowling attack. Although if Kaif comes back into some sort of form i see potential in him.

I just heard on NDTV that tour operators have lost Rs. 30,00,00,000 on account of cancellation of bookings by Indian fans. A few days back I had heard that 5000 fans were going to the WC. That was already a tenth of the fans who went to the 2003 WC. Back then, 50000 Indian fans were there at the WC.

Did I mention the billions that the sponsors will lose? :))

Ah! This is exciting, really exciting. Now I badly want Bermuda to perform that miracle and see what the fans do! It will be a great thing to watch!

Everyone is speaking about India crashing out. Come on! Havent teams bounced back from almost 'dead' situations to come back to win the World Cup? Pakistani fans can re-live their 1992 glorious moments. Even Australia were at the brink of elimination in 1999 after losing lot of matches in the group stage. Yet they bounced back brilliantly to win 7 odd games in a trot to win the World Cup!

I am not speaking of bouncing back in ODI's. I am speaking about bouncing back in this 'World Cup' itself. So what if its not in India's control anymore? The players are realising that they have performed really bad, the captain has given a very honest opinion about the performance to the media.

I really hope Bermuda perform that miracle and give India that boost in confidence! Yes, it will be like a new life to the team, but we have instances of it happening in the past!

The problem with that Sai is that Bermuda are realy not very good, the chances of their batsman putting a decent total on the board, or even chasing, are very slim.

Yes. If he doesnt perform he should be dropped. As should be the case with everyone. But, he shouldnt be just asked to leave because of his age.

I hope Sachin is now treated like a mortal being. He is no longer the super star of Indian Cricket. He has lost his touch with age, and has been reduced to an ordinary batsman, and he should be treated like one.
In the World Cup, he got decieved by the bowler completely and got out. Against Bangladesh he got decieved by the flight and also played down the wrong line.
Against Sri Lanka, he was decieved by pace, as well as in swing.

Sachin should be given 5-6 chances, and if he doesnt perform he should be dropped.

Since all my other predictions failed miserably, I predict Bangladesh to win big tomorrow

Indian team sux neways hope they dont qualify I am done with cricket.
