Group C - Canada, England, Kenya, New Zealand

Yeah, apart from Flemo, everyone's a bit of basher so someone should click someday :p

Lol yea it's crazy, surely they can't all fail on the same day if Fleming makes another not so quick 100.

Are u new to cricket? ;) Mcmillan has just made a comeback but u have used " always Mac " :p

Also, it seems that u are just like that making a comment on Kiwis skipper who is been one of the best skippers in Cricket ( In my opinion, he is the best skipper i have ever seen ) and also a great dependable player.

Too late to be dropping your captain not that it stopped the NZ media calling for his head. After that loss in the CBS everywhere you looked it was about sacking Fleming.

Because he's the best captain in world cricket and is the best batsman we have. He's also one of the best players of spin in the world, so if he can get through to the middle stages it's very handy. He'll score runs in the World Cup.

Thats a good point. I've always liked Flem opening as he is not the quickest runner and the best 'noodler' (for lack of a better word) in the middle stages. But yet becasue he is an excellent player of spin and can look a bit dodgy against the quicks at the top, he would be better down the order. But now because there is a logjam in the middle order, and no other opener in the squad, I guess he has to open.
Where in the batting order do you guys think Fleming is suited to bat?

@ Aussie1st, I agree with you on the NZ media, they can be downright stupid at times

I rekon he's fine opening. Take his last few outs, you can't blame him for them. 330+ on the board both times, he couldn't afford to muck around so he played his shots. At least when he got out, he was going at basicly a run a ball. His running has improved too now that Vincent is there. Astle and Fleming just wern't running singles. I think Vincent and Fleming contrast each other nicely.

Without having had time to read every post in this thread, dont forget our teams are once again playing in foreign conditions.. Reckon whichever team/teams adapt the best will go a long way. Yeah, Kenya would be the dark horses in the group. Kind of cool when one of the lesser known countries manages to pull off an unexpected win. Unless of course it against our own team :laugh

Vincent and Fleming are a good opening pair. It was only a few days ago when they put on the highest ever opening stand for NZ vs Australia I think. The original chalk and cheese combination but Fleming can up the ante when he wants to.

mccullum and mcmillan are a dnagerous pari that can rip apart the english. the battle will be interesting and so will the canadians and the kenyans

If we can make a decent score with our top 4 batsmen, the rest of our attack can really hurt a side. But without those runs it's difficult for them to still play Aggressivly and not get out. When chasing 350odd it isn't so bad, but setting a score it will be.

As much as Oram wan'ts to play, I really hope someone can talk some sense into him. A world cup is not worth a finger. He's young enough to take part in at least 1 more after this one and possibly 2.

Is he thinking about chopping off his finger? I know a rugby player that did that last year so that he could fulfil his dream of making the Wallabies even though hes never played for them before.

Along with setting it will be interesting seeing how they defend a big total.

Fleming is the longest staying captain i beieve.
Stephs took over from Lee Germon in 1996,therafter he has led his side in 3 World Cups.
This I believe would be his last.
Maybe he can pull off yet another Martin Crowe here.
