Group C - Canada, England, Kenya, New Zealand

If Bond has an off day then we really should win but if Flintoff and Pietersen have an off day then NZ really shhould win. We need our players at their best for this game

We'll we know who Matthew Hayden thinks will win. He said in the press conferance we are easily a better team and were unlucky not to be in the finals of the CB series.

Should be a good opening match for us. We have 2 warmups vs Bangladesh and Sri Lanka which both should be decent tests.

As long as England bowl first then I fancy us beating New Zealand to be honest.

If we bat first then we have no chance.

I think English have the upper hand as their bowling is slightly better than Aussies atm and also Pieterson is coming back so that should complete their batting line-up. NZ still has issues I am afraid, their top order is not in the best of form and Fleming seems past his best anyways. Styris doesn't look like a batsman anymore and Vincent is starting to loose his form again.

I wonder has Hayden ever had a nice word to say about England?

I hope for England's sake that this post doesn't come back to haunt you. :p

I wouldn't put it past England to get beat by Canada or at least make a meal out of winning it.

All this Fleming is past it talk pisses me off. Nothing wrong with Fleming. He's scored a Hundred and a 70odd in his last bunch of innings. He's on the imporve. Sure he had 2 failures, but he was very unlucky in the 3rd match, was a good catch and just picked out the fielder. Plus his captaincy is still top draw.

if anyone is looking bad and letting the side down at the moment it's Scott Styris. His bowling has been average and he's yet to get some runs. Hope he comes right for the WC. McMillan may have just stolen his place to be honest.

Well Styris will have a few games to prove hes still got it before Oram comes back in. I would say they would take the same side that beat us in the C/H series game 2, with Tuffey out for Patel or Franklin. I would keep Macca as him, Oram and McCullum can cause some real damage in that lower order.

Styris should work on his bowling to start with as he can be more than handy on WI pitches, more like Gavin Larson type bowling.

Yea he should be good over in WI given Dwayne Smith usually picks up wickets for the Windies. Obviously if he can find form with the bat then you would want him as the 6th bowler. Would be interesting seeing who they drop if that's the case, Fulton or Macca.

Can't be Fulton since he has been doing pretty well, could be one of the bowlers if Styris can really work out his bowling.
A good looking squad -

Fleming
Vincent
Taylor
Styris
Fulton
Macca
Oram
McCullum
Vetori
Bond
Gillespie

That wouldn't be too bad, only problem would come if one of the bowlers doesn't go well. You can't hide him away as the part timers I can't see going much better. But batting has a ton of hitting power certainly wouldn't want to face that lineup if I was defending.
