Group C - Canada, England, Kenya, New Zealand

I never expected us to beat New Zealand anyway. They have the better team by far and England's one day team is terrible apart from that brief uncharacteristic series win last month. England will beat Canada and Kenya and i'm absolutely sure of that but you can see the gap between England and the rest of teams above us is that they thump their minnow opponents in a canter, whereas England win in a slow, stuttery and uncomfortable manner.

I hope that post was just to spur Ireland and Bangla on :p

good as far as i'm concerned fine the bloody lot of them, looks like Fletchers taking no prisoners now he knows his job is on the line

Looks like England are just another par team for this World Cup, but I think they will get through the other games.....

The players fined were: James Anderson, Liam Plunkett, Jon Lewis and Ian Bell.

can't blame lewis if he isn't picked! Jimmy was good and so was Plunkett so they deserve a night off, Bell you can understand,he should have been thinking about how to bat properly

I'm actually suprised it was these low key players that have been partying, I kinda expected it to be the louder players.

Sorry, but you cant give them excuses. You say you cant blame Lewis if he wasn't picked, what if Freddie had got injured and we needed another fast bowler, he would have to be ready.

You say Jimmy is let off because he was good, well, just because you do well in one game, you dont get the right to go out partying, especially when there is such a short time until another important game. Same goes for Plunkett, England need them both to bowl well on Sunday.

Bell needs to get his head in place for Sunday.

To be honest, for 4 England players to go out clubbing after a miserable drubbing by New Zealand and with such a short space of time before tomorrow's game against Canada, is unprofessional.

so then what would peoples team against Canada be? here's mine:
Joyce
Vaughan
KP
Bell
strauss
Fred
JD
Nixon
Plunkett
Lewis
Monty

I'd use this game just to see whether Joyce/Vaughan/Strauss should be playing although i think Loye should be in ahead of all of them! I'd also might push Freddie up the order in a desperate attempt to get him some form back with the bat. Then I'd also give Lewis and Plunkett a chance leaving Jimmy to rest his finger.

Without injuries, you cant go out changing the team in tournament, as we have seen today, game's against minnows are not that easy. All the experiments should have been decided before the tournament, for now, we need to play a settled side.

but it's not good to have no competition for places and you certainly can't let people get away with consistently failing. Joyce and Vaughan need to be under some pressure, plus we should do anything to get Freddies form with the bat back.

They've had one official ODI game in West Indian conditions

Yeah, I'm surprised Loye isn;t in your 15. I mean his figures in the CB series wern't great, but he got England off to some good starts. England didn't really use the powerplays as well as we did. The ball was doing a bit, especially in Bond's first over. I wouldn't call Vaughan or Joyce or Bell 'attacking' batsmen. I've seen Bell score at a decent clip before though. Then again, Joyce has done everything right s he should keep his place, and if they want to keep Vaughan as an opener theres no room in the 11 for Loye anyway.

i was talking about Joyce and Vaughans failures in the CBS. No matter what the conditions if you're not scoring runs your place has to be under pressure.Yes i know Joyce had a 100 but he needs to make more and stop living off the back of it

a) You cant drop the captain
b) Joyce did well towards the end of the CBS series and got the match-winning 100 that allowed us to beat Australia.
