ICCCT2006: Group A

India at home is a real worry, I'd expect them to beat the Windies and they could well beat us if we play like we did against the English. Best case for us would be Windies beating India or England beating the Windies, that way we only have to win our final game instead of worrying about run rate.

In all honesty, I don't see India losing to WI. The obvious difference is that India are playing at home and will provide the extra effort I feel to seal their spot in the semis in front of their home crowd. Also they want redemtion against the Windies who beat India at home. I'd still back Aus and India to qualify, but it will certainly be very interesting if WI lose to India, WI beat Eng and Aus lose to WI. Then both WI and Aus will have the same points, but expect Aus to qualify because you'd expect them to have a higher net run rate due to the quick win against England.

Why do you feel low-scoring matches can't be fun? Why should it be batsman dominated? Cricket isn't only about runs. It is about taking wickets, tight match-winning spells and rivalries between batter and bowler too y'know. It isn't just a sprt where the ball has to dissapear everywhere.
If you call these pitches substandard, then every pitch which has leaked 325+ should be substandard too.
I am personally enjoying this series a lot. With all the batting beauties in the last 2-3 years, we have found the cream of the crop bowling wise. Now it's time for the batters, time for the boys to be seperated from the men batting wise.

The pitches have'nt been properly re-laid.
Any why have a match in CCI when you havent played there for almost a decade ?

Good points. Though I didn't see Pakistan beating Sri Lanka. But it happened. This is a little more of a longshot, but if Lara, Gayle, Sarwan and that all fire. Their main men then they can beat any side. Inconsistancy is the only thing going against them.

Because the Wankhede has too many other commercial partnerships associated with them. And you know how the ICC handles commercial rights...

We love a contest between bat and ball. But unfortunately, the masses don't share our fine tastes.
To make money the game has to appeal to the "lowest common denominator".

Well you have to remember the Windies still are to play England so they may give the English a major smashing which would make it that much harder for us.

Knowing our abilities, we'll play best when we have nothing to gain (Bar pride).

Well hopefully you English finally do something in the ODIs. KP and Flintoff have yet to take off this series so would be good to see that finally happen. It would make our path to the final that much easier.

Big man of windies dismissed for 30+!!! But Windies seems to be in the comfortable position atm!!!

Pathan bowled horribly once again!!! Harmison of India :D

Pathetic stuff from India
Batting-crap.
Pathan isn't a number 3. Why are they wasting him there?Especially on a seaming track. If it were against a young new bowler, or on a batting strip, then maybe. But here?
Sehwag, well, what do you expect?
Yuvi lost his head
Raina was absolutely pathetic. Look halpless out there. Why Kaif isn't playing is beyond me
Then Dhoni. 12 off 40 balls!! Sure, he did well at the end, but it was too little too late. And he ran out Dravid.
Sachin, too slow although he did look fluent.
Dravid was perfect, till Dhoni ran him out...

The bowling:
Pathan: Has looked worthless. If the ball doesn't swing, he is about as good as a bowler as Dravid. No length, no line, no more slower ones. Pathetic. Drop him for a season, that should help.
RP: Let me sum it up this way: If you bowl 5 short balls, all down the legside, to a 6-3 offside field, conced 11 runs in the process with two boundaries, isn't it about time you pitch it up? I know he's young, but Sreesanth's young too and so is Munaf. They both have been brilliant.
Munaf: Excellent.
Ajit: Good, but going slightly badly here at the death. But improving, only 3 off his last over.
Bhajji: Brilliant, becoming a better allrounder than Irfan.
Viru: Excellent, becoming a better allrounder than Irfan too :p

For the WC, we should drop Irfan, Raina and RP. Bring in Sreesanth/Powar, Mongia and Kaif. But even Kaif, according to articles about the net practices, seems to be in poor form too.

West Indies require another 31 runs with 7 wickets and 30 balls remaining
Flattering to India. They were pathetic today.

Can this change? Pathan getting Lara's wicket cheaply.
I think West Indies are trying really hard to make this exciting.

Pathan took a wicket

West Indies require another 6 runs with 5 wickets and 8 balls remaining

India don't deserve this win. I'd be more disgusted than I am if India win...

Nail-biter this! Sarwan gone!!!!

This match deserves to be a tie! This is the closest match of this CT, & its very interesting! :)

SARWAN IS OUT!! :eek::eek::eek:

5 needed of 6!!

India win this, it will be the most disgraceful thing ever. I mean, they were crap!!!
