ICCCT2006: Group A

You raise a good point Puddle; We get hammered 5-0 by Sri Lanka with Harmison in the squad, but we draw 2-2 against Pakistan without him. He should definitley be in the Test side, but ODI's are a no-go.

ya evo, I was just shocked to see Harmison's first three deliveries!!! I hoped him to do some good job here becos he has height as the main advantage..So batsmen must be expecting good bouncers..so if he try to keep the ball low suddenly, that wud definitely trick the batsman!!!

But as Geoffrey said, " the line was just ruuubbish "!!!

Another rubbish over from Harmison. What can I say? Someone has to bowl bad for England every day. They do it in turns. First, Kabir Ali, then Mahmood, now Harmison.

Adarsh, you forgot about Bresnan. :p

Is Lewis better choice for Harmison in ODIs? but if England loose this match, they have tow in against WestIndies.... Still it will be the toughest for England to qualify for semis!!

i dunno y the english selectors go for harminson in the sub - continent they shud get hoggard or lewis ... u dont need pace and bounce only swing

what about broad? why aint he playing?
Yeah Broad is a very good bowler and he played a major part in drawing the series against Pakistan.I guess may be England want to hold him as their trump card in the upcoming Ashes. What do u think guys? ;)

Stuart Broad isn't in the Ashes squad.

Surely that wicket was the lamest celebration ever, I know England have lost but I could have made more noise than that :p

Oh but you know the injury problems with England he may replace someone in the Ashes. :D

Yeah, Harmison might well be injured between now and the Ashes, if any Englishmen see him.

It's funny when you look at things on a longer chronological scale, I mean turn the clock back 3 and a half years, many had said similar of Flintoff; a player with some talent, but not much to show for it.

Watson could well do the same, although different bowling type. I'm not saying Watson won't be a world class player in the future, but he has alot to learn, All Rounders take time to learn their limits, their better disicpline, etc. Atm though despite having a good day today (Although arguably Bell and Freddie got themselves out and Yardy wasn't out) he can improve but so can most.

Positives?

Anderson, Mahmood did alright still too expensive for my liking, ummmmm Yardys eco rate, he can take wickets, but only when the batsman has to score runs not trundle at 3.5 an over.

Negatives?

Harmison, Flintoff up the order, Reads form with the bat is a tad worrying, KP not scoring runs, neither Strauss nor Bell going on to three figures.

Changes for the dead rubber on Saturday: Lewis for Harmison I'd keep the rest. Well done Australia, you played well, not at your best but then you don't need to be when we collapse quicker than an Asthmatic in a Sawmill.

Hopefully Harmison never plays an ODI ever again. Honestly, Dominic Cork could still a better job.

Though Harmison bowled poorly, that wicket delivery of Martyns was a superb delivery!!! I feel he is not that mentally strong or no confidence for some reason... becos if he has the capacity to bowl like those deliveries.. i really wonder why he was bowling like that at start!!!

EDIT : this is where England miss reverse swing from Simon Jones & Flintoff!!!
