ICCCT2006: Group A

May as well put Laxman in the squad and play him specifically for the Aussie games. Always lifts against us :( Pathan really is struggling, had a feeling his lack of pace would kill him but these pitches are swinging so you would expect him to be much more effective. India have more than enough batters so if Pathan isn't performing with the ball he should be dropped.

It sounds like Steve Harmison has been dropped. I'm not sure if that's a surprise, but I think Jon Lewis will come in...

Lewis should be in there anyway. England should have been playimg him months ago. Fro mwhat I have seen he is a tidy bowler who gets wickets and movement.

For the second Saturday in a row I decide to pull a flunkie from Footie training to watch England, and for the second week in a row I am regretting my decision. Our ODI team has gone so far past a joke that I fail to gather the energy to rant about it anymore.

On a good note though, Freddie is bowling again.

A Matthew has just had his e-mail read out on Sky Sports- nothing to do with you?!

Regardless, this is indeed embarrasing.

What's embarrassing? That's a 300 pitch.
It wouldn't matter if it was a pitch that the ball wouldn't bounce above ankle height, England are just a poor one-day team.

Big deal, we're going through a poor patch. Why does everyone expect us to be brilliant though? All these new fans who've jumped on the supporting wagon since we got good at Test cricket no doubt. In the last few years, we've got to the final of a major tournament and tied with Australia in a series. When we get our first team on the pitch, we'll be up with the middle teams, such as Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

I haven't jumped on the bandwagon. Funnily enough I started to watch cricket during the lost Ashes series in 2002-3!

Michael Vaughan should be fit in December, so 2007 may be a good year for England in all forms of the game.

I didn't say that you had. My point is that everyone expects us to be the best in the World at the drop of a hat. They don't seem to realise that we were improving a few years ago and only dropping back into bad habits in the last 12 months or so.

Mind you, having our best One Day Spin bowler being replaced by a guy who would get smashed about in the local pub league, is probably part of the problem, especially on turning wickets.

I'm not a bandwagoner, I just want all of my teams to win all the team. Call me stupid but losing just makes me disapointed. I'm the same with Everton, St.Helens, Wales and all of my teams. It's just the way I am.

And back on topic, England have made a blazing start thanks to Strauss and Bell. Maybe if these two can put on 100+ then we can have a sniff, but it's always the same with England, losing a wicket here will probably result in losing 2 or 3.

I will be interested to see who comes in at no.3. I would not put Pieteraon there.

Brocket is out, Chris Gayle is a monster. Let's see if Andrew Flintoff, who answers the number three question, can score well here after regaining his place as an all rounder today.
