I take it you are quoting from Cricinfo Zorax. Please can you credit your sources in future.

12 off 16 now...

Bravo clearly caught Yardy earlier when the ball bounced into his hands, but Yardy was given out. What goes around comes around if you ask me.

Credit to Saj, even though he was out really. I told you all it was a 300 pitch. We just need to get rid of Yardy and Read and we'd have a decent side. Although Blackwell should be in ahead of Dalrymple with a decent keeper/batsman.

So that means that in Jon Lewis' last 3 Odis for England we have won all 3. In Harmisons last 5-6.. possibly more I can't be assed to work it out.. we have won none. If Lewis doesn't start the next Odi we play, I'm afraid I will have lost all faith in our Odi selections (that's of course assuming I have any left to start with :p )

The other thing I wanted to say was, whilst in test cricket Strauss has a fantastic conversion rate, for me he scores far too many 50's in Odi cricket. So often he gets to 50, and that's it, out he goes. In actual fact he has a similar problem in Test Cricket when he reaches 100, more often than not gets out and doesn't carry on, especially if he has batted all day up to that point. I think he possibly has a concentration problem when it comes to reaching a milestone.

For once I agree with MUFC. At first I wanted Read in becyase Jones was getting into even worse form, but now i've realised that he just can't bat at all. Like I mentioned earlier, Jones or Prior should be there. I'd definitley pick Jones in the Ashes squad simpy becuase of the experience of playing against Aus that he possesses.

I have to say it was plumb out! The only doubt was an inside edge but he gave it leg byes.

It was a slower ball yorker which hit on middle on the low shin, PLUMB...England very lucky. However they played well and deserved a consolation win.

You seem to be forgetting the Yardy 'dismissal'.

Oh no I am not, I am emphasising the fact that England could have lost how things could have gone differently.

They also could have cruised it if Yardy had stayed in. But Im sure noone is interested in the alternate reality where England easily win.

Yardy with a highest score of 12, was in no way shape or form going to take us to a win. I'm struggling to remember an England player worse than him. He can't bat and he just bowls slowish, whilst doing nothing with the ball.

So, Mongia has to come in.

Viru
Sachin
Raina
Dravid
Kaif
Mongia
Dhoni
Powar
Bhajji
Sreesanth
Munaf

My XI for tommorow. 3 good spin options, and two tidy seamers. But seeing it is at Mohali, a pacy, bouncy wicket, Pathan might do better than Powar. Tough choice. Pathan in form is lethal, and this kinda pitch suits him. Powar is good, but will he be effective on this wicket, and is 3 spinners + Viru + Sachin too much? Sachin most likely will be unable to bowl medium pace. But if he can, this balance may seem fine.
So, it all rests on Sachin's bowling :p If he is willing to toss down around 5 overs of accurate medium stuff, we can play two full spinners and Mongia. Otherwise, we may need Irfan back (Definately NOT RP!) and use Viru/Sachin a bit if we need spin.

I fully agree with Ravi Shastri when he says Ghambhir should be in our WC squad. If not him, then another opener, as back up if something happens to Viru or Sachin.

I think one thing that this tournament has shown is how on a given day....anyone can beat anyone in the top eight.
Yup. Also shows that many top batsmen today aren't exactly that good when it comes to batting on bowling pitches.

I think India missed a trick on slow pitches by not bowling Sachin's slow 55mph outswingers

Pacy wicket, surely Munaf, Pathan and VRV Singh with Harbhajan and Powar as support. Five bowlers, but one (Pathan) can be an allrounder.

VRV isn't in the squad.
Pathan...again. Kinda dicey. Risky either him or Powar, but choosing him is the riskier option. I mean, if Pathan fails, they get off to a flying start. If Powar fails, it might not do too much damage, and there is cover for Powar, not for Pathan...
Very tricky choice here, between an out-of-form player perfectly suited for the pitch and an in-form player for whom the pitch is exactly what he doesn't want...
