India in West Indies, 2009

Play us 1 game on turner and we will show who cant play spin.

I agree with sid. From where did that 'short ball' thing start to haunt us back again? It was only so recently that we won series/tournaments practically everywhere (Australia, New Zealand, West Indies, South Africa, etc). Now people like Howsie will come and say that the respective country boards were afraid of India's money power and prepared batting pitches. Absolute cowards if they did that!

Back on tomorrow's game, Rohit must be dropped. I cant see anyone else being dropped to accomodate Badrinath (if they dont, it would be utterly stupid and I would blame Dhoni then).

Edwards is so overrated. Averages 90.5 against us in ODIs.

Averages don't always do justice. Edwards is a good bowler. He can bowl them very fast and his short pitched deliveries are scary lol, I wouldn't want to be the batsman.

Yeah Edwards is such a great talent, he is such a small guy but he's still got a better and quicker bouncer than Ishant Sharma.

I think it's about time Rohit Sharma officially starts calling himself a T20 International Player just like Scott Styris.

Ishant had dream run and its over for him in two years if he doesn't get his feet on ground from cloud 9.

Rohit is just an IPL commodity for time being.

India didnt have the problem against the short balls in the last few years because of two extraordinary players i.e Sachin-Sehwag. Both of these aer very strong cutting and pulling (Sachin has almost 4 of cut shots, so he can place the ball anywhere between the point and third man and even behind keeper).. Moreover these guys ae very good at their shot selection. Thus they do not pull a 90 MPH fast bowler from outside offstump to leg side(though sehwag does it a lot of time but he is exceptional).. If you see the past few matches, rohit had got out playing the pull from out side off stump which is suicide if you dont move your feets. Yeah, ball can be pulled from outside offstump but you have to get across to the offstump and cover the line of he ball to have control on the shot. And what did sharma do?? just played the pull shot off the front foot without any feet movement. Jeez, i didnt knew that i would miss Sachin-Sehwag opening partenership this much even if that was for one series only:D:D..

Finally moral of the story is, Dont hook or Pull if the ball is outside offstump(unless you are Pieterson, sehwag,Gayle or yuvraj:p:p)

The last 2 games will be really played hard, today is the 3rd match, who so ever wins this match wont loose the series,it would be interesting match to see...

A lot of depends on Yuvi and Dhoni, only these two have performed, the rest is just filling up the team,Yusuf should not come down the order specially after Jadeja,Jadeja have now got enough chances...

Lets hope that Dhoni dosent experiment one more time by giving Jadeja to bat before Yusuf pathan..

Maybe send Yusuf at one down. Experiment to see if it works. If it works, Yusuf will cause big damage to the opposition bowling. If it doesnt work, we have backup in Yuvraj, Dhoni, Rohit/Badri and others.

Maybe guys like Howsie are correct that Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina can't play the short ball and that India won matches in those other countires because of other players

My whole arguement was that those two couldn't play the short ball well, not the whole Indian team.

Mark Richardson : It's just like playing your boss at golf - Cricket - NZ Herald News

Mark Richardson:

India were known for struggling on wickets with a little pace and bounce so the directive was to put them on such wickets. That was the intent but the reality was they were asked to play on fiery green demons. They didn't play particularly well, were roundly criticised and left muttering derogatory things about playing in New Zealand.

india needs to drop rohit sharma and jadeja and bring in nayar and badri.rohit is just nopt good enough in this format and jadeja has just looked out of his depth at the highest level.

I strongly feel Nayar will make his debut today. Not sure about the chances of Badri's selection though.I slightly feel they'll give Rohit Sharma another go.

Sachin overcame the problem, but Sehwag I am still not sure about.
