India in West Indies, 2009

Nope dudes the current Indian team form indicates towards just what I said the Windies exploited the weakness of Indian batsman in T20 and they surely won't stop doing that in ODI's Our team is currently under "Bhagwan Bharose :upray" nothing else.

Our team is just like our share market it sky rockets for some time then after a while crashes hard. Its a fact that Indian team doesn't have consistency like South Africa or Australia. This hurts :( but its the truth

3 T20 losses do not indicate anything. T20s are entirely different to ODIs and Tests. We must not mix different formats of the game. Sure, the Windies might still go on to win the series but it will have very little to do with out T20 form if it does happen. We here in India tend to get very emotional after a defeat and start abandoning our team and forget how well they have done in ODIs over the past year or so (since Sep 07).
We have the second best winning percentage in ODIs since Sep 2007 and you call that as not being consistent. We have done better than Australia in ODIs. I don`t know which Indian side have you been watching in ODIs over the past couple of years.

lot depends on first ODI. We have won first games in most of recent ODI series we have played and then continued winnings from there.

We lost 2 T20 games in Kiwiland and in ODIs Kiwis were lets just say blown away.

Simmons and Edwards, their recent match winners are missing out this series.Dropping Simmons is really a foolish move, that too to leave space for Morton. But Im eager in watching this series.Really would want our guys do well, especially Captain Dhoni who would definitely want to prove a point or more to his critics.

Will they be tired if they win this series?

Don't think so ! Btw any one knows when the match will start in IST?

Usually does at 7:30 PM. Meaning you can watch till first 10 overs of second innings without worrying about yelling family members.

Whose idea was it to have 4 ODIs in the series?

That's my first question. :p

This could be a stroke of brilliance by the organizers... one ODI washed out due to a strong storm possible, leaving 3 ODIs?

Or is that not likely during this time of the year?

We in the West Indies are in the Hurricane Season at this time of year, June 1st to November 30th, so this is very possible. I have some pics in an album on my profile it will give you an idea of what goes down here this time of year!!!

I too wish we see some of the newly drafted players like Nayar and Badrinath play more in this series than the injured and tired legs. More importantly, this series will give Dhoni a good chance to resurrect his image among the Indian public and prove that he is still India's best bet as captain.

Dhoni really must work on his batting form. He could think of giving the gloves to Karthik and focus on his batting for a while.

I don't understand actually why Simmons have been left out and Morton has been included.

Hopefully West Indies will give India a good fightback. Some players are really in form.

The West Indies should of gone with this team:

1.Chris Gayle
2.Keiran Powell
3.Shiv Chanderpaul
4.Lendel Simmons
5.Ramnaresh Sarwan
6.Dwayne Bravo
7.Denesh Ramdin
8.Jerome Taylor
9.Sulieman Benn
10.Nelon Pascall
11.Ravi Rampaul

Two power hitters at the top :D

India's line up should be like this....
G.gambhir
R.Sharma
M.Dhoni
Y.SIngh
A.Nayar
S.Badrinath/d.karthick
Y.Pathan
H.Singh
RP.SIngh
A.nehra
I.Sharma

We might need two specialist slow bowlers in West Indies to make use of the slow and low wickets. I would drop RP Singh and I would go with Pragyan Ojha (or Ravindra Jadeja, if we need more teeth in the batting). Jadeja is a better ODI bat (he has played a single ODI and he scored 60 odd in that match). Ishant and Nehra would be the fast bowlers for the variety (left-right). Badri vs Karthick is nothing to debate about. It has to be Badrinath. And Badrinath should bat higher than Nayar. Badri is a more accomplished batsman. Also Nayar is very useful with his lusty hitting which would work lower down the order whereas Badri is not great with the hitting.
