India in West Indies, 2009

Hope India comes back this time. Last time we lost series to WI by 1-4 atm.

Last time
we lost the series to West Indies at the moment.........

As a Jadeja fan, I hope he gets some games. I think Dhoni likes him so hopefully all works out well.

No Pujara?? I don't know if he's injured, but if he isn't, it's a perfect time to get his ODI cap.

I pray to God,someone talented and deserving must be selected over him,But Im damn sure Dhone will keep faith on him.Hoping atleast he'll improve on his game and do justice to his selection.

Cheteshwar Pujara again unluckey. he should be in for somebody's place as he has shown much consistency in Ranji Trophy.

Scored 1000+ runs in two consecutive years in 800+ runs in 7-8 matches/innings last season.

he should be in. what do you say guys on this.

Also Srikant, selector from south zone is giving chances to his players only (new) like vijay and badrinath.

Cheteshwar Pujara - India

You must be mad to say this.Badrinath especially hasnt been given his due chance for so long.Im finally content hes getting some opportunity atleast now at the age of 29.Im sure he'll be sacked if he has a bad game though.

Pujara is injured atm I guess.Or else he definitely deserves a chance.

Talented? Averaging 60 with the bat and 20 with the ball over an entire season. If that's not talented then I don't know what is. If you're basing your entire opinion on merely his T20 record then god help you.

Dude, are you braindead? Do you know how long Badrinath has been ignored? Maybe you should just swallow your pride and realize that if he was from the North then he would already be playing for India. Pujara is also deserving but Badrinath has waited much, longer for this opportunity and fully deserves it.

Im saying it on what I've seen him.I agree I was a bit overacting when I wrote that post. But one season doesnt show the real thing. He needs to be consistent with it before getting a chance over consistently performing blokes likes Kohli,Rahane, Pujara and Badrinath.

Lol, none of those guys are competing for the all-rounder spot in the team...

Thats not an excuse really lol.We already have an able all rounder in Yusuf Pathan.Irfan, though past his best wasnt that bad recently.Abishek Nayar seems to be more talented and hard hitting than him.Jadeja can never be greater than these guys at least in the present situation.

Yes, it is. They just play different roles. That doesn't make any one of them better. Plus, Jadeja's bowling is better than Yusuf Pathan, or Abhishek Nayar's. With the batting, those two provide a hitting option while Jadeja provides someone who can steer the ship. A bit like Dhoni, but on a lower level. Whatever though, you've already made your mind on Jadeja. I just know that by the end of his career, you'll be eating your own words.

Ill be happy to eat my words if he does that for Team India. But unfortunately atm I cant see that happening.

But why? You said it's because he doesn't have the power to clear the ropes. I think Dhoni is smart enough to realize that he can't do that and give him a different role which doesn't require him to do so. Maybe he's not going to play as a slogger. And we already know he's more than capable of occupying the crease and we also know that he's capable of taking a few wickets as well.

I cant understand why hes been given numerous oppurtunities as an allrounder despite he being failing with the bat consistently.
My question is why should we still stick with him when we have better players than him.You say he'll be better for test cricket. Its okay even if a player doesnt hit sixes at ease. You need to hit boundaries atleast. He doesnt seem to do that.Hes content with the singles and doubles. If thats the case he'll soon be worked out by the opposition.
EDIT:Yeah he seems to have a very good strike rate in 20 List A games. But Still Im not convinced. If he could transpire his domestic knocks to the next level,he can be a real success. But looking at what hes done till now,it doesnt seem happening.

He's what...19/20 years old? Age shouldn't be an excuse, but 19 is not even close to his peak and he's proven to be so talented already that it's surely worth giving him a run in the team. Hell, he deserves to be in this team more than Rohit Sharma, who has continually failed at international level, bar one of two good innings for his 25 or so ODI caps. Jadeja's played like one ODI match and he scored a 50 (run a ball if I remember correctly), albeit in a losing cause, but it never looked like we were going to win that match. Also, his bowling in the both his appearances in the T20 World Cup was clever and effective - definetely better than Nayar or Yusuf.

And, he can hit boundaries. You wouldn't average 60 with the bat in Ranji otherwise. If you're talking international level, how many games has he played? Not many, let him play a couple, and get good opportunities to bat. Not saying Jadeja's definetely going to prove you wrong, but he's more than capable of doing so.

Numerous opportunies? You gotta be kidding me. 1 ODI and 4 T20s is not numerous.
