India tour of England 2018

We Indian fans don't have much of a choice tbh. 200 is the least England can get from here surely.
I would hope so , 250 would be better.

Can see why Ashwin isn’t bowling tbh but with England’s track record against spin had to be worth a punt?

It should have been. More so given how well he bowled in the 1st game. Looked a changed bowler and a much more threatening bowler tbh. This is where Kohli's captaincy is still a WIP. I just hope he learns asap. We need a stable squad and need to trust that squad!

India need Dravid as a coach, Ravi is not working. Too much ego clashes.

Good partnership for England this, need bairstow to just keep on going.

The captain and coach speak a lot of big words before the start of the series.

I hope Kohli and Shastri will have the balls to admit they goofed up big time with reading the wicket/conditions and the team selection, leading to our massive loss in the second test. 2-0 down ... there is no way we are going to win the series anymore, on what was supposedly our best chance of an overseas series win[DOUBLEPOST=1533997237][/DOUBLEPOST]And it is ridiculous, the pace at which the runs are being scored. If a wicket is not coming, atleast try to choke up the runs to force an error

Can't blame the conditions here at all. Last time we played at Lord's in 2014, we batted first and Day 1 is extremely challenging conditions on that day and Rahane scored an absolutely sensational hundred (till date, his best) and set the tone for that game which India won comprehensively. Its just that instead of moving forward, the combine of Vijay/Pujara/Rahane have really moved backwards with their game and I am 200% confident that it is the environment and the way these players have been handled, which is the reason.

I wish Kumble was there at this time. Under Kumble, I am pretty sure these players would not be withering away like this. I also put quite a bit of blame here on Sachin/Saurav/Laxman, who were part of the committee that is entrusted to select the coach. I understand they were under big pressure after the Kumble controversy turned out ugly, but surely they could've put their foot down and asked BCCI to command the captain to "either get along with the coach or step down himself".

Yeah I agree, the intent to score is lacking, we are stuck with defending and edging one to get out..That in itself feels a loss to me regardless of the result..Look at how Bairstow, Buttler plays, yeah you can edge one but when its your day you will get away with it , we dont even try..Ashwin did that, cover the line and hit in the air no one has got out that way which itself says we are stuck with poor mindset in batting..

Im enjoying this in a sadistic way. Kohli and Shastri's pigheaded selections will not let players develop any sort of rhythm. What message do you send to Umesh Yadav who did very little wrong in the last game and in fact broke the English tail when others struggled. No respext for conditions or conventional logic would result in many more such surrenders. Lets brace ourselves for a 4-0 devacle yet again. Our test team is on a slide which cannot be salvaged till Shastri is kicked out. I hope we do not have any consolation wins this series which would allow Shastri's big mouth to open again.

England needs to be careful planning the game. it is not just about amounting a massive lead. With rain expected on Sunday and Monday, it is better to pick up to pace and give time to knock India over.

The lead is nearing 200, with Curran and Rashid(recognized ARs) yet to come. Pandya is as useless as a piece of shit! Can't bat, can'y bowl! Need Bhuvi/Umesh here to continue the flow of quality seam bowling. Gosh! I'm not watchin it anymore.

Same thing I tell to myself and I check the score again in 5 minutes :p

Disappointing, why do we always struggle to get the lower order out as quick as we could get the giant top order which is the tougher task. Frustrating to say the least, replacing Umesh backfired and you don't get as hurt if a Root gets a hundred but when someone like Woakes and Curran score big.. don't know what to say. A smart decision would've been to get Jadeja in for Pandya if we really needed another spinner rather than replacing Umesh with Kuldeep.

And I don't even remember the last time when our tailenders/lower order clicked. It's after the top order is gone early we're finished, no reliability.

Even I am prepared to admit now that England should win comfortably unless weather intervenes....

My usual tag for @asprin so we can hear his insights into how he assesses the state of the match :p
