Rabada batted 60 odd deliveries. Ashwin came and picked up his wicket. He bowled well yesterday even if it's to a tail ender who was not dismissed by our pace bowlers. I am no fan of Ashwin but credit where it's due.

I saw the entire day and bar BK everyone was poor among the bowlers. Like I said, can't judge Ashwin's performance. I don't understand why Shami bowls so short on every tour to begin with.

I know you are his fan. But try an think about it from a cricket perspective. The main reason why everyone is cursing Rohit is because of who he replaced.

Tell me honestly, is Rohit really that good to replace Rahane in overseas test matches?

To be honest, Rohit and Rahane both played the last game. So taking the thing into account, Rahane has been replaced by Hardik.

Leave out the thoughts on Rohit for a moment.

Best batsmen in the world just scored a fifty in first innings. And I don't think he poked the 5th stump line. And he is in Australia atm.

And please tell me you are not comparing Rohit with Kohli and Vijay after just one innings ? Mistakes do happen. We are comparing Rohit and Rahane after seeing their whole career in overseas conditions. Not just 1 or 2 matches. And that too in tests, not in LO. Rohit is more vulnerable for this pace attack than Rahane or Vijay or Kohli. I understand you are his fan, it's just that Rohit should not play ahead of Vijay, Kohli, Pujara and Rahane. You can ask anyone around and ask whether they prefer rohit or rahane, you will get your answer with the same reasons given here.[DOUBLEPOST=1515236271][/DOUBLEPOST]

We do have criticized Kohli, Vijay and Dhawan for playing those shots yesterday. They just threw away their wickets and it does matter. Where has anyone said it doesn't matter ?

EDIT- Sorry. One more point. It's not rohit alone. Dhawan is much worse but he is getting less heat because he didn't replace Rahane. Rahane is better player than Rahul. Saying that I think even you will agree that Rahul should be ahead of Dhawan ?
And Rohit is playing in Rahane's batting position. So, he has replaced Rahane. Not Pandya even though pandya was not there in last match.

Although India are in a Horrible situation right now but I am enjoying watching this match. This kind performance was quite expected considering the poor preparation prior to the tour - lone 2 day warmup cancelled , late arrival in the country and a needless home series.

We won't last much longer. Pandya should just go into T20 mode and try to get as many runs as possible instead of playing 20 balls and getting out.

I think at the end of the day it really becomes a question of how the selectors and coaches can aid Kohli in continuing his dominance of the game. With a record like his, people (selectors/coaches) clearly know that he has a great grasp on the game and a plan for the next one - hence they allow him to have a great level of control than previous captains.
