India tour of South Africa

Seriously that is a rubbish post. That was a short ball and had nothing to do with the pitch really. I also agree with Gavaskar on air when he says if similar thing had happened with an Indian batsman and India made such a fuss, India would be looked down at.

Gavaskar has a habit of acting like a victim. I said it at 50-3 (India) when it was 50-50 that the game should be called off. And all this crap about Indians being looked down upon is a desperate attempt to seek sympathy which is typical Gavaskar. The pitches when SA toured India were very poor as well.

We all know how well India has played and while we are all desperate for the win the sensible thing is to call this off. You don't want another Phil Hughes. It's just a game of cricket. Life is bigger.

Obviously the safety is of utmost importance. But my only query is why didn't the umpires think the pitch is that dangerous to continue when India were batting?

This is what Ive been posting all bloody morning! Abandon this match!

Nasty shot on Elgar, hope he is okay. I dont trust these Indian players at all they are using this horrid pitch to hurt the SA batsmen! Very distasteful and disgusting to watch!

BS. Show that you have a pair.

If it was so life threatening, how did India even post 240+ on it? Shami was tonking sixes on it, for god's sake. And a lower order player Kumar scored 33.

I agree with what Gavaskar has been quoted as saying. If an Indian was in place of Elgar and India did this, we'd have been called "sissies", "can't handle the pace", "flat track bullies", "BCCI clout" blah blah blah.

As I posted earlier the Indian batsmen played exceptionally well, throughout the day the umpires been discussing the conditions. Funny thing the present era the Indian cricket are above everything amd no longer an undercard.

South Africa wanted to beatdown India badly in the last Test, but now they only having problems :D...

On serious note, this Test may India win... but yes, player safety is important and South Africa not a need win from this match, so they may call this Test off, if they get the call...

Lol Sunny G throwing some srrious shade as part of the host broadcaster commenary team.

Nothing to do with India being ahead. Had SA been in the driver's seat, will they have made such a big fuss as they have now? Didn't the ball misbehave when India were batting? India did bat out two sessions today, isn't it?

Agreed and agreed. My earlier post, even when India were batting indicated to abandon the match. India deserve to win this game and I cant deny they played very good.

They did, Kohli wanted to play on.

Just read about this in the Cricinfo comments too (that Kohli wanted to play on in the first session when the abandonment offer came). And seeing the way India have batted after that, it makes all the more sense to continue the game since India have shown that you can bat on this pitch if you apply properly.

I dont mind getting off but it should've been done yesterday. Coming this far and then telling that this game cant go on, does great disservice to India. Anyways series is gone and a 2-0 or 2-1 wont matter as much. But India have really deserved a victory here and should get it.

Murali Karthik said Rohit should play the 3rd test and now he says that he always believed Rahane should have been playing. :facepalm

It's as if these guys think we don't watch and listen.

I disagree. To Kohli, winning might come before safety. To Du Plessis, it might be vice versa. There's more to life than a cricket match.
