India tour of South Africa

Patiently waiting for some other dumb reason to make our win look useless and easy. Assuming one of it to be [HASHTAG]#NoAB[/HASHTAG], BCCI got some pitch curators from India and so on... I've accepted the fact that no matter how good we perform there'll always be people criticising and finding a fault. Doesn't bother anymore.

Kohli yet again proving his worth as always, leading from the front and a very fine innings by Rahane. Although I agree Rahane doesn't fit well in the ODI format but we definitely need him in overseas conditions, he's dependable and can score runs even if slow.

The comparison between Dhoni and Rahane is laughable. Dhoni just by his keeping walks in the side. Also, in the past year while Dhoni has not been devastating he has still more hitting prowess than Rahane. We will romp home here thanks to Kohli who's shepherded this chase with his genius as usual but this is an awful long term solution. Dhoni at 4 is must.[DOUBLEPOST=1517507869][/DOUBLEPOST]Also, I am literally amazed at how poor SA bowlers are. This Phelukwayo is an absolute excuse for a bowler.

I beg to differ on that. Its not a comparison between Dhoni and Rahane as ODI players. Dhoni obviously is an ODI great but one cannot ignore the fact that his batting is a pale shadow of its prime. Also, Dhoni has very often sucked momentum out of batting innings as well. I admire his contribution to Indian cricket but to say that he still has the hitting ability is stretching to too far. If we want to look beyond Rahane, I would punt on someone like Rahul. Lets not forget that Nohit against good pace bowling in big situations doesn't have the game. One cannot deny that Rahane has the skill to take on quality fast bowling. He just has to improve on his batting in middle overs against spin. To write him off would be akin to how we wrote off Dravid in his early days. ODI cricket, unlike T20s has room for test cricketers. You cannot afford a lineup of 6 swash-bucklers.

I don't understand why Jadhav is being termed as a momentum sucker. In whatever matches he has got the chances, I have always seen him play his shots which come naturally to him. In fact he is someone who can start hitting right from the word go and hence fits the finisher role along with Pandya. Dhoni at 5 is also good. For thr first time I am liking what Kohli and Shastri combo is doing.

I think today's innings he has been really good. Hopefully he can keep doing this often.

And yeah well played Kohli, he is a monster in ODIs!

However, to play the devil's advocate, he was not up against a stiff asking rate today. I'd like to see how he fares when faced with a similar situation with the asking rate above 7.[DOUBLEPOST=1517508948][/DOUBLEPOST]India should look at bossing this series to feel like they have had a good tour. SA batting without AB doesn't quite feel the same in ODIs. This is our best shot at winning an ODI series in SA.

Our bowling attack is the best in the world i.e our two seamers and wrist spinners. We have the best batsman in the world in this format. But, there are other holes we need to fill and this has been proven time and again.

That India is one of the best LOI sides is not a question.

I still feel Pandey is too good a player to be sitting out.
I think i haven't seen him at all after he scored that great century in Sydney a couple of years ago. Why didn't he get a consistent chance in the side?

Now getting on with the game having missed the entire days play! What a lackluster performance from SA it seems.

Kohli once again proving he is the best Indian batsman of all time!

Because India are always known to have too many other options waiting for their opportunity. Those days, Raina and Yuvraj were competing for a place in the side. Then came Rahane, Jadhav, Rayudu and the likes. In all this musical chair contest, Pandey always got the rough end of the stick. Never allowed to settle.

Innings like these from Kohli almost make you feel like you should bat second just so Kohli doesn't have to. What a player and Rahane more or less securing his place for this tour.

And a century in Oz in between all that.

A comprehensive victory for India! The two wrist spinners are absolute gold those wickets in the middle overs changed the game completely from batting perspective give Rahane a proper run at no.4 now irrespective of the match scenario to get a clearer picture of where he stands.

Manjerekar and Gavaskar's biased is unreal. They have almost stooped to Ramiz Raja levels.
