So no Faf, no AB. SaF need others to step up really bad now. Yet another series if India win will be marred by you did not have AB or FaF to play against hence you won :).

Ravi Shastri says

"Rohit was averaging more than 200 in Tests and had scored around 1200-odd runs in ODIs. So what does the team tell him? Your runs don't matter because that's how it works?

What bull load of crap. What did you tell Rahane? Your overseas runs do no matter because we have to make sure Rohit's run matter more? Shit thinking and shit philosophy. You pick your best team based on history and sense. You do not pick players because they averaged 200 odd against a side that struggles to stop even Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.

Shastri is an idiot, Kohli is an even bigger idiot! If Bhuvi was dropped for the conditions, what about Bumrah? What conditions did Centurion offer to keep Bumrah in the side? If you see by performance, Bhuvi was the player of the match in Cape Town (first test). It made absolutely no logical sense to drop Bhuvi and retain Bumrah. Now if you ask Shastri, he will come up with the excuse "Oh what do you tell Bumrah; that he is dropped after doing decently in his debut test". Some excuse they will come up with. Kohli (and his croony Shastri) have favorites who get the best rope. Rohit, Bumrah, etc. these guys get that rope.

I am actually happy Dhoni has lost the interest to act as the makeshift captain on the field in ODI's (heard the stump mic conversations of Dhoni in the first ODI here; and looks like he is still ghost captaining). Its very good for the team that Dhoni is still doing it. Hope he does it till and in the World Cup. Will bring all the positives of his captaincy without the burden associated.

Those excuses will certainly come up, but it does certainly make India's life easier, and i'd say they should be able to win 6-0.

While it was heart warming to see India win the third test I knew for a fact that it gives these two morons more leverage to run their circus. Shastri is a proper humiliation as India's coach. One feels ashamed he's Indian.

They are looking at a long term option. He has led in U19s and Titans. CSA have said he was always a part of their leadership plans. Anyone remember Graeme Smith when he was given captaincy or Dhoni for that matter?

Smith was 22 years old when became the captain and Dhoni was 26 when he was handed the captaincy.

My point was actually in the context of how much experience did those two have when they were handed the captaincy. Very less. So I feel this is a good move by CSA.
