India's Tour of Sri Lanka

lol, India, maybe they should stop dreaming of being the best UNTIL they beat a Sri Lanka, but Lankans are not a bad team atall, Murali is magic.

I don't think India played well and we all know they can play a lot better. They can bowl better, they can bat better, but most of all, they can field better. Umpire referrals are only any good if you are worth the wicket. Sri Lanka are a very good fielding side and in this game I think it was proven that it was often worth a difference.

I thought India were good players of spin bowling. :/
Yeah. I feel sorry for the rest of the world.

Wow. Wasn't on Sky so I didn't see it but that comprehensive. If India really want to 2nd best in the world, they really have to pick their game up (as if they didn't already know that). As for Mendis, perhaps his novelty will wear off and he'll become a Shahid Afridi/ Tendulkar type of bowlers with more skill.
I think any side would have gotten destroyed by those two. Keep in mind I haven't seen any of the footage yet.

I'm going to go observe the carnage now. :(

Everything was stacked against India though in this match -

Playing Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka is ALWAYS tough.

Playing Sri Lanka at this particular ground - where they basically thrive. Jayawardene alone has what, 9 tons here? Murali has bundles of wickets and i'm sure Mendis has played here many-a-time as well

Let me tell you for sure, Mendis will be playing here many times later too for years (hopefully), that guy is a bomb!

No need to press panic button, says Kumble
India skipper Anil Kumble said on Saturday he was confident his team would bounce back in the three-Test series against Sri Lanka after crashing to a comprehensive defeat in the opening match here.

India lost by an innings and 239 runs on the penultimate day -- their third-heaviest defeat in Test cricket. The second match starts in Galle on Thursday.

You can say that its ok for India to struggle against Mendis but they played Murli like it was their 1st time seeing him. They struggled so much against him.

well i guess everytime we go off to bad start like in england and india agianst sa but i think india will come back strongly after their defeat. I didnt like indians talking about medis they took him so seriously they forgot about murli

Kumble should stop being over confident... its impossible for India to bounce back against M&M's ;)

I guess India would look much harder into these two, and its these situations where they could pull up all bits of energy and put up an inspirational performance. It has happened in recent times (Adelaide 2007 vs Australia).

They need to play mendis and murali like just any other bowler. dont give them too much importance, and play the ball on merit. Sachin can do it and so can Dravid, Laxman and to an extent Ganguly. These guys will come back hard next match. But I agree - Sri Lanka are a very good team now with these two spinners. They have a good captain, good batters (Dilshan, Silva, etc) and a lethal bowling attack (Vaas, Malinga, Fernando, Murali, Mendia). WOW!

How much Indian cricket have you seen?
We`ve come back after really demoralizing losses against Australia.
Our win at Perth earlier this year was a classic case after being hammered at Melbourne.
