Yeah, Akmals keeping is terrible but he is a decent batsman.

They tried in a T20 once against South Africa but he can't bat at all and his keeping was average. So he wasn't anything special, well he wasn't then. He may have improved since then (start of the year). Worth a try I suppose.

Well, are you judging him by that short innings in a debut T20 game or have you seen him play more matches? :

Fawad Alam got out on a first-ball duck, but we definatley know that he can bat! :cool:

Got out for 5 I think. But so did Gautam Gambhir. But still he has been performing well lateley...
We should include another WK in the next series with Akmal...

First of all. Who the hell ask him to open the innings? He is not a specialist opener, And Imran khan has been saying it for years now.

I know it was a practice match, but why practice him at opening slot when you know he wont open.

Meh, I don't think he is anything good, but I will always remember those odd occasions where he showed really big potential.

I don't know enough about the lower ranks in Paki cricket so I can't really comment as to whether or not he should be dropped.

I know that ZQ experiment didnt work out,but that wa sin a T20 match.Try him out for a couple more ODI games.

Else,why not try out Sarfraz Ahmed,he'll fit in a young team.
Unless I'm very much mistaken Sarfraz captained the U-19 Team Pakistan to victory in the 2006 World Cup.

Sarfraz screams more than Akmal. Maybe that was because he was captain last time I saw him but he screams loud.
