Of course we care about other formats/games, God it's seems like quite a few members have been taking stupid pills. All that was said was that it's not a total disaster for us as if we had played like this in the Ashes as they matter a lot more. Jeezo some people....
Yes, it is a total disaster. This is still the World Cup. Even if the Ashes is more important to you, World Cup glory is still almost as important. You can't justify such poor performances in an ODI tournament by saying that it's ok because you won the most important test series out there. Would I take a whitewash of Pakistan in Pakistan (test matches) if it meant that we subsequently lost series' to Australia, South Africa and England? Sure, I would. But that doesn't mean that those three series' vs Australia, South Africa and England weren't total disasters just because we annihilated Pakistan in their own backyard.

LOL, that's a pretty awful attitude to have... seems your players have the same feeling towards the world cup, or shall we now call it "pyjama stuff". Don't know why England bother turning up to anything but the ashes.

See thats the issue. Why does it matter a lot more to you if this is how England played in an Ashes? Ashes is a bilateral series between two countries. World Cup is a multi nation tournament and the biggest event of cricket to decide a WORLD CHAMPION. Being World Champion should matter most than an Ashes series. If you give so much importance to a bilateral series just because of its rich tradition, there's something wrong.
That is more like the Bangladesh we were expecting pre tournament. The spinners keeping it tight and taking wickets and the batsmen then finishing it off.
Quite funny how England keep sucking when they are favourites, could say they will be given that tag against the Windies too.

Why is that awful? I value the Ashes miles ahead of the World Cup it is the pinnacle for English cricket.

I think it's becoming more evident that shafiul is also an emerging talent. He's not going to be topping the ICC rankings, but I've thought ever since they beat england in england last year he had something about him (and I've said this on here before)
here it wasn't his bowling but his fearless approach to batting that stood out.
he's a mentally tough cricketer with enough skill to do very well. in a year or two's time I think he'll be as important as shakib and tamim to bangladesh.

Easy to say AFTER you've potentially thrown the WC away. Tell me anyone in England who doesn't want to win a World Cup. It's been the one thing England has NEVER WON. I agree that the Ashes still beats it if you had to choose between them, but winning the ODI World Cup would be a pretty high priority just because it's never been done before and it's a pretty prestigious trophy to get.
And don't give up yet boys. England still have plenty to play for. It only takes 3-4 wins and they'll be lifting the trophy.
That said, I'd love to see Australia get drawn with England in the QFs. Would be much better than getting dragged down to Mirpur to face Bangladesh on a pitch bouncing knee high.

England is just not in form. They won against South Africa just because South Africans always choke in chase with crunch situations. However England did play great against India.
I remember Collingwood saying after Ashes that We are one of the four Semi-Finalists and we will beat each and everyone in World Cup. Since then England is consistently losing virtually.

Wow I read the posts after the match and I read posts that say "Ashes are more valuable". WTF is that? Those posts are only coming because England got whooped by Bangladesh. Seriously! England teams needs to understand that Ashes is not everything. It is just a series to make them feel better that they have beat Australia and nothing else. World Cup is all that matters because there you face other teams from the world accept just Australia. I bet if the Ashes had England vs India then the winners would always come out to be India. I said this in reply to Andrew Straus's comment (I know I have said this before). He can beat India any day of the week? Hahahaha that was hillarious 
I still think that was the best joke I have ever heard in my life. Now its time for the minnows to say that they can beat England every day of the week. That will make more sense.

They won't even get to the quarter finals probably and already have plans for the semi finals lolz. England is just a teams with overconfidence and some luck thats the only reason they are surviving in international cricket. They only win matches by luck. Give their confidence to Bangladesh or Ireland and they could be the teams that can be a much better competition than England for other good teams. Playing England will seem like a joke now. TBH , when Bangladesh required 70 runs with 7 wickets , i started to compose a prayer involving the words 'South Africa' and 'choke' and chanted them for 5 minutes . Almost immediately , 12 runs for the loss of 5 wickets ! You guys must give it a go as well !
Big win or a disappointing loss, Strauss is always humble, calm and composed . Great guy
