New Zealand in Bangladesh, October 2010/11

Nice start. Keep that up and finish it off. No need to panic.

Yeah but i'd rather have him there than Elliott you can't just hide him cause of one bad series

But if you're New Zealand cricket you'll try.

The thing is he's just turned 20 and this is only his second time touring in the subcontinent (his first being last year with the NZ A team). What did they actually expect from him? - obviously to perform better then what he did but that tri series was hardly a run scoring fiesta. They picked him, they bit the bullet and now they have to live with it. The selectors were fully aware that New Zealand had three tours back to back to back in the subcontinent, anyone with half a brain would realise that was/it's going to be a challenge for him (and not just him Watling and Stewart too).

When he was selected I hoped he'd go well, but I also hoped our selectors would use a bit of common sense along the way too.

Wasn't Williamson supposed to be the next big thing? They should at least stick with him. They should drop Stewart.

Wow at Suhrawadi Shuvo's figures, 10-2-14-3.:hpraise

Impressive stuff here from Bangladesh. They need to put these performances more often. They do have the ability to catch complacent sides off guard.

NZ's batting looks really poor tho.

63/0 for Bangladesh.
If they lose now, then it would be a shame.

Bangladesh win and draw the series. Utter embarrassment. NZ the laughing stock of world cricket. Would help if we'd select our best available side and winning a toss would be nice. Both this and the last game we've had to bat in poor batting conditions. YZou can see the suns out now and the pitch has improved ten fold. Even half way througfh our innings when we took the powerplay. The pitch had baked a bit and flattened out after being sweated under the covers for the week.

Matchfixing? :sarcasm

Na, I'm not looking for excuses, when our team selections are as bad as this we deserve to get wasted!

Good on Bangladesh. :)

As sad as it sounds, hopefully Stewart's injured for the next match.

Bangladesh win and draw the series.

O RLY?

you're getting gubbed and all of a sudden you're going to win the next two matches?

I'm stirring it a bit, but it's really no more than many NZ'ers deserve given the outraged way you acted when you lost the first one just assuming every match this series was going to be a walk in the park when bangladesh have been significantly improving over the last year and have pushed NZ close even before that.

Barring a HUGE collapse, Bangladesh have probably sealed up this match and taken a 2-0 series lead. A good test for Bangladesh will be to see if they can wrap up the series in the next 2 matches and keep NZ from clawing back to tie the series. As an NZ fan I wouldn't want Bangladesh to win, but if they did, they fully deserve it.

Indeed. Would love to see Bangladesh win this series. They've played very well in the first 2 games, NZ will bounce back hard but if BD remain consistent they could feasibly win the series.

That's always the key issue isn't it. Consistency.
