New Zealand Tour of the West Indies - June-August 2012

Well played gayle. Do know you looks worse WICB or New Zealand bowling

Gayle out. Congrats to MArlon Samuels, helps keep Gayle's effect after he left.

3rd ODI : WestIndies elect to field

Here's a nice gesture from West Indies (via @digicelcricket on twitter): WI have declared today as Runako Morton Day and are playing in his honour. Bravo & Sammy will donate their match fees to Morton's wife

He was well liked in the WI team, amongst the players at least.

Good bowling by Boult bowling well on his debut. Getting some swing.

Well that was a bit of a surprise

Tired of Dwayne Bravo and his poor performances. He is too expensive when he bowls and his batting hasn't been good except for one T20.

I would rather bring Russell up the order.

Yeah its his reputation that keeps him in the team. why is pollard not bowling at all

The WI could do better by bringing in a specialist batsman for Bravo. With Sammy, Pollard and Russell there are enough allrounders in the team that are actually performing. Samuels bowls good spin and even Gayle can do the same.

Taylor out, Narine was the difference between the sides

That specialist batsman should be Sarwan. The one problem with West Indies is that they have too much hitters in the top 6. WI face too much dot balls per innings, Sarwan and Samuels in the middle-order would help reduce this sickness.

On Dwayne Bravo, his ODI career is interesting. Sure the stats are woefully inconsistent - but i think his ODI batting stats especially don't reflect accurately. Similar to Shaid Afridi.

For the majority of his career he has batted down at 6/7, where he has had to come in a slog out in the death overs. Sure at times he has tended to throw his wicket away with dumb shots - but i don't think anyone can say his batting average in ODI's reflect his ability.

His only ODI hundred came @ # 3 and i've always believed he should bat their long term in ODIs for West Indies and he could do a similar role with the bat like what Watson does for Australia.

I think Bravo needs to sacrifice playing in some T20 leagues and play a full-season of first-class cricket for Trinidad to aid in tightening up his technique, which in some ways has become very loose.

Thanks not going to happen,no one is going to throw away easy money, least of all Dwanye Bravo who didn't play ODI to participate in the IPL in a recent series
