Aus: 3/147 (44)
Australia require 211 runs to win
7 wickets in hand

Australia are now back in the game with some great batting from Martyn and Clarke. If the Aussies can get to the end of the day without anymore wickets back in the shed they will be the sure favourites to win the match?

Good middle order ressistance from australia....but still 200 plus is required!!!! so still a long way to go!!!!

CLARKE GONE RIGHT AFTER TEA

The Kiwis have got one of the wickets they were looking for, Michael Clarke. Clarke went back to cut a ball through point but was beaten for pace and rapped on the pads on the top of middle stump. Hussey, Marto and Gilly now have a lot of work to do?

BITTER SWEET TIMES FOR THE AUSSIES

One over has changed the face of the game, Damien Martyn broke through and scored a brilliant century but just 2 balls later Adam Gilchrist was caught at mid off. Martyn received a standing ovation from the crowd after striking his gutsy ton which came from over 190 balls. Australia were trailing by just 110 with both batsmen in charge when Gilly lost his head. The Aussie keeper tried to clear mid off but mistimed the stroke and looked on as Astle took a comfortable catch?

B.Lee 0(0)*
D.Martyn 104(193)*
A.Gilchrist 25(53)
M.Clarke 45(106)
M.Hussey 41(44)

4 wickets in hand

C.Martin 3/47 (16)
J.Franklin 2/89 (28)
D.Vettori 1/101 (27)
M.Mason 0/5 (2)

Australia require 93 runs to win
4 wickets in hand

The match is in the balance, If Martyn and Lee get a solid partnership the momentum will swing towards the Aussies. If the Kiwis claim early wickets they can level the series 1-1?
