20 Over Mark

Pakistan at the 20 over mark are travelling at a decent run rate of around 4.5 runs an over. South Africa are bowling quite nicely with the ball and a troubling a few key batsman like Ul-Haq and Malik. At the moment South Africa have the upper hand and are looking very strong to win the series.

Pakistan are in a good position. Haven't lost too many wickets.

Good work!

Ntini was expensive!!! I think bowling change may do some tricks for SA!!! Also Boje may be quite handy in these situations!!!! :cheers

Malik get his 50

Shoaib Malik has been in great form over this ODI series, he scored a century in the first ODI, a decent 47 (I think) in the second ODI and now he has scored a great half-century of 70 balls, during that century, Malik hit 7 fours and 2 sixes. South Africa have to get him out now if they want to win easily.

Pakistan are 2-101 after 22 overs.

Skipper caught for 12

Pakistan captain, Inzamam-Ul-Haq has been scoring runs at a very low rate and suddenly tried to up the run rate, he was successful at first, hitting a six over backward point but the very next ball was a bouncer by Kallis, Ul-Haq tried to slog over square-leg for another six but underestimated the speed and height that it would went, the ball landed extremely short but didn't bouncer much and just accerlerated at a high speed to Ul-Haq's ribs where he just went onto his back foot and edged to the first slip area and Dippenaar dived and took a classic catch and dismissing the skipper for a mere 12. Mohammad Yousuf is the next batsman in.

Pakistan are 3-113 after 24 overs.

Pakistan batting order collapse

Shaun Pollock has bowled a beautiful slower ball with his first ball to Malik and dismissed him LBW for 56 (80). Malik was trying to up the run rate like Ul-Haq and ended up with Ul-Haq, Malik tried to slog a slightly slower ball from Pollock back over his head but the ball just crashed into his pads. It was a close one and the umpire raises his finger, the umpire probably would of thought it would just nick leg-stump.

Afridi is now in, he hit a four on recieving his first ball, the next ball he missed when trying to slog, the third was a great in-swinger which also cut towards the off-side, Afridi tried to play but it swung and cut too much and he missed the ball and it uprooted his leg-stump. Pollock gets 2 wickets in one over and maybe this wicket might get the message to Pakistan to stop slogging.

Pakistan are 5-117 after 25 overs.

30 over mark

Pakistan have regained control of their innings with great co-operation and batting by Yousuf and Akmal. Yousuf wrecked Boje's figures by hitting 2 consecutive sixes in one of his overs. Akmal co-operation and determination gave Pakistan a lot of quick singles and twos. Pakistan are back in the contest but can they hold off the return of the fast bowlers, Steyn and Ntini?

Yousuf gets his 50 in no-time and gets out

Yousuf has gotten his half-century off only 27 balls! He hit 6 fours and 3 sixes and has a strike-rate of 188.9! He has been a real saviour for Pakistan.

Kallis has been brought back into the attack and Smith's decision to do so worked well, Kallis bowled a slower ball a bit outside the line of off-stump and Yousuf tried to slog it back over Kallis's head but mistimed the shot and the ball hit his pad and was given out. Abdul Razzaq is now in.

Pakistan are 6-201 after 34 overs.

Akmal suicides my mistake

Pakistan's wicket-keeper, Kamran Akmal has taken over Yousuf's role of slogging but it proved unsuccessful after a few sixes. Kallis bowled an out-swinger and Akmal tried to drive it to the leg-side but unfortunately for Akmal he played it back onto his leg-stump dismissing himself for 42 (38).

Pakistan 7-216 after 36 overs.

Pakistan should play all their overs from now......and get somewhere near to 300. Only 3 wickets left and 14 overs to go in the match they should play safe now.

Abdul Razzaq has smashed Van Der Wath everywhere for 22 runs in his fourth over, Razzaq hit 2 sixes off 2 no-balls, a few fours and sixes. Then Van Der Wath achieved a good landmark in his terrible over, he dismissed Razzaq for 22 (11). Van Der Wath bowled a slower ball right in front of Razzaq, he mistimed his slog and hit it to Prince at mid-off.

Pakistan are 8-241 after 37 overs.

oh mg, great runrate in 37 overs but almost all gone!!! SA did the important job of taking wickets at regular intervals though they forgot to control the runrate :D

Would have been good to see how high the Pakistani's could have gotten if they didn't loose all their wickets.
