Pakistan Tour of Australia 2009/10

Sorry, I know how you feel being an England fan, but I just can't understand how it happened! I'm amazed and I genuinly think that Pakistan are a good side.

That was I had thought, since when Yousef got out today he was batting with batsman not tailenders :p

I looked at the scorecard yesterday and couldn't see a way the aussies could win it. I thought their only hope was to get say 150 in front and bowl well, but I didn't imagine they would actually do it. I realised Hussey being not out overnight was key, and needed support but I didn't believe Siddle could help add 123, I did guess Bollinger wouldn't last long.

Pakistan need to take a good look at themselves, FIVE batsmen got into double figures and only one passed 23. The tail always did look a bit long, 33 between the last four in the 1st innings and just eight between them in the 2nd. And to lose so comfortably having been 34/1 and 103/5 is pretty bad, I guess when Farhat (22 off 25) and Butt (21 off 31) were scoring quickly they never dreamed they'd both be in the pavillion at 51/3. Maybe if they and Iqbal and Yousuf had slowed it down a bit they might have won

Well Hauritz gets his 2nd 5-fer in a row. Pretty good for a guy who averages 45+ and has no 5-fers in FC.

I reckon for his recent performances, Ponting should be thanked, he is using him very agressively now, while in FC he was just taught to keep it tight and a wicket was a bonus.

This series has opened the flood gates for him to be a serious spinner in international cricket.

Maybe. It was a really strange test match. I really can't understand how Pakistan coulda screwed it up so badly. It wouldn't surprise me.

That was outstanding from Australia today though. Amazing come back. As I said, you really have to perform well for all 5 days to beat Australia. 1 bad day after 3 good ones cost them the game.

This game reminded me of the 1st Test against Lanka 6 months back. Dominated the whole game except the last session. Watching the highlights now, and Farhat just went cheaply

What's the news like in Pakistan at the moment? Much Akmal blaming going on haha.

Anyway I was using the search function a few minutes back looking for threads about Watson (I'm board okay) and I found this one from a year and a half ago:

Must say it's a pretty good laugh now, one word that was used often was tempermant and that Watson lacked it.

Pakistan is the only team that has the ability to do miracles as such.Ah well,Aussies were brilliant though.Nice to see Hauritz getting wickets, and Ponting used him well.

They're all tail enders :laugh

Lmao at the ICF thread. What bloody tools!

Lol, Panicstan :D

Gazza_11 added 7 Minutes and 32 Seconds later...

Anyone think match-fixing?:spy all the wicket were catches, had the australians by their throat until the last session or so...........

Didn't people say that about Australia after Day 2? :p

I'll just say it- Ponting is a great captain, inspirational to his team, and boy do they follow him. No-one can say we cheated here, it was a brilliant turn around by a developing team, under an astute leader. All credit to Ponting. All his haters should at least give him credit where its due, because he does cop it unfairly a lot of the time. At the MCG - to my absolute dismay- internet 'people' were saying his declaration was defensive? I think a lot of people are very immature with those sorts of statements.

I'm not afraid to say I think Ponting is a great captain. :clap
