Pakistan Tour of Australia 2009/10

He got unlucky in both innings.

1st was a good ball, swinging away late on a difficult pitch. 2nd was very lucky for Kaneria, as Hughes was playing him so well.

North needs to be dumped in a dumpster.

He got unlucky :laugh That's the funniest thing I've read all day. Firstly he was dropped at gully first ball he faced, he then had two big swooshs before he finally nicked one.

In the second innings he looked like he couldn't get the ball of the square until the spinner came on (he was 10 of 52 at one point). He started to look decent before lunch before coming back out and hitting the ball right back to Kaneria.

I have no idea how you can say Hughes got "unlucky" in this test, ridiculous tbh.

The best possible line up for Pakistan in the dead rubber:

Imran Farhat
Salman Butt
Younis Khan
Mohammad Yousuf (c)
Umar Akmal
Shahid Afridi/Fawad Alam
Sarfraz Ahmed (wk)
Mohammad Aamer
Umar Gul
Danish Kaneria
Mohammad Asif

the simple reason Pakistan lost and has been loosing off late is their fielding..... Hussey in my opinion didn't play any special knock.. if you are dropped 4 times on your way to a hundred, its nothing special. And those dropped chances were as easy as they can be.

MoYo's captaincy as I mentioned before is austrasious. Pakistan's fielding was not as bad since MoYo took over the captaincy. He does not give any importance to fielding... telling the press that its infrastructure problem... then saying we can't drop Kamran because he is a good batsman. If he lets other batsman score 100 more runs whats the flippin use!!!!!!!!

this is incredibly frustating... has happened in Sri Lanka, New Zealand and now Australia.... just imagine what it is to be a Pakistani supporter...

I have decided to stop watching any matches unless they can prove that they deserve my support....

flipin pissed!!!

Fawad Alam should be in the team just for his fielding.... he has the point position covered and not dropping absolute sitters...

Well dont just land the blame completely on Kamran. True his performance behind the wickets was nothing less than crap. But had someone told me that we needed an under 200 score in the last innings against Australia before the Test, I might have taken it.

On second thought maybe not

To a degree yes he was unlucky, but not enough to blame for his performaces. He's a class player yes, but he's still got some developing to go.

Still I would with Kamran, I mean one bad horrible day shouldnt be the reason you are out of the team. He kept well in NZ as far as I remember and batted well too

The only thing Hughes can feel unlucky about was that Kaneria caught that catch.

The fact he didnt get out and was part of a 100 run opening partnership at probably the most vital time of the game shows he did very good. It's not always about personal scores.

^true that. He complemented Watson very well. Better than most NZ opening partnerships :p

Gazza_11 added 0 Minutes and 35 Seconds later...

Called it on page 77.

I am that good.

My dad caled it after Day 1 :laugh

That's not my point, my point is that he didn't do enough to keep Katich out of the team/or stay in the team and have someone else drop out.

So any chance of North getting dropped in the next match? or will they continue playing him, since they won the series now?

I doubt it, after this win I'd say the selectors will give him the Hobart Test and the rest of the Shield season to prove he should go to NZ. He's on seriously thin ice though. It will be a similar deal for Peter Siddle.

Yeah. my favourite player in Marcus North has to go. It happens to a few of my faves, like Morne Morkel.

Gosh, Ferguson will be so cut :( He probably would be ahead of Hughes in the pecking order, deserves it for sure.

Hmmm, I'm not really sure about Ferguson being next in line. Maybe, but I didn't see him doing anything Cameron White wasn't. Hughes was always the guy talked about anyway since we really have 2 middle order players opening.

What will the Aussies do? Bring Simon Katich in for Hughes? A waste imo, seeing as we've wrapped up the series.

Hmm, if it were me I'd play whoever has their elbow in better condition: Katich or Ponting :laugh But North is probably a 70% chance to keep his spot for one last chance, Hughes will probably make way mainly because he's probably expecting to make way. No need to make too many waves if there really isn't a need. It's a dead rubber, the important decision will come when the NZ tour squad is picked.

Since it's a dead rubber, I think he should be given an opportunity. Akmal has been playing for a long time but there was never a time when he looked like improving his glovework and he dropped Hussey thrice who went on to make 131 which means he's the main culprit although I agree the batsmen shouldn't have choked.

He is not a great batsman either, just a flat track bully.
