I wouldn't hate this. Express pace, big hitting middle order, robust top order. Spin is a concern, but it was always going to be one and at least there are options. Long batting can be a waste, but everyone below six is there to do something else anyway.

I reckon 3 is the future for Michael Clarke when Ponting vacates the other teams as well. the key for him is nowadays he is still a strokemaker but he has toned down the aggression to a point where he is playing smarter. And I think he plays the quicks a lot better than he used too.

Sorry I can't see him at #3. He is more like a Damien Martyn.

When Ponting will retire, I have a feeling Mitch Marsh will be playing, and will take that spot after a couple of years.

Will be interesting to see, after 2013 when the Ponting leaves the test arena I think Pup will be averaging near Ponting is with the bat and will be in his prime. I can't see any player coming from outside the team to bat at 3. If Marsh gets there imo he will have to be already playing for Australia.

Awesome, we're batting first.

Babysitting is preventing me from going to the T20I in Melbourne for the first time :crying

Australia team
DA Warner, SR Watson, MJ Clarke*, DJ Hussey, CL White, TR Birt, BJ Haddin†, SPD Smith, MG Johnson, SW Tait, DP Nannes

Pakistan team
Kamran Akmal†, Imran Nazir, Imran Farhat, Umar Akmal, Shoaib Malik*, Khalid Latif, Fawad Alam, Naved-ul-Hasan, Mohammad Asif, Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal

This is what we've been waiting months for, the debut of Steen Smith! Can he live up to it? A strong showing here could earn him a berth in the ODI team against the West Indies.

2:34 am, wanted to see Tait and Nannes bowl and go to sleep, will be a long time now :facepalm

that was an abortion of a 3rd run, doesn't matter how bad the arm is, the ball had already been thrown

The outfield looks great, first time I've ever seen that effect.

Ive seen it done before in Australia. Remember the commentators arguing about whether it would cause fielding to be difficult.
