Pakistan Tour To Sri Lanka May-June 2012

^You did not get me. We are currently playing three fast bowlers. Only tanveer can bat a bit among the three. What I want is to have a third seamer who can come in at number 8 and add some impetus to the innings or hold fort if we lose too many wickets up front that is not very uncommon with our batting. A good batting option coming after Afridi will add strength to our batting. That is a role that Abdul Razzaq performed for so many years but lack of penetration in his bowling has cost him his spot.

The way I'm seeing it, Pakistan need way more out of Afridi (or Sarfraz) with the bat. Afridi is the guy who is upsetting the balance because with 3 fast and Ajmal, plus a keeper who isn't great with bat, that is your bottom 5. So Afridi really must be a batting all-rounder in this team. Afridi has been bowling well sure, but that's a luxury that Pakistan can't really afford when their batting is so weak. Either Afridi must go and be replaced by a batting all-rounder or one of the 4 specialist bowlers needs to be replaced by an all-rounder.

If it's a batting all-rounder he can share 10 overs with Hafeez, or to be the 6th option bowler. Can Shoaib Malik bowl at the moment? Fawad Alam can bowl a bit too can't he? Or give Hammad a go as Ali says above.

@khan Yes u might be right but still i think our batting sometime look like zimbabwe aur other associates team batting to be honest although they all are big names but i think they are not performing to that mark for eg look at umar akmal what a talent .entertain people with their batting but the problem is he cant get big ones because once he hit a six we all knw he will do it again on next ball and then out so my thinking if we improved batting we will do well in future and look at kohli stats or century and on another hand look at umar akmal both have shots but 1 built the Innings and 2nd built till 20 or 30 and then out on bad shot and for misbah we all knw mr Tuk Tuk but i like him and whereas we cant predict with our openers who will open with hafeez.and afridi is also dont reliable so my point is our reliable players are less than other top teams maybe shafiq who cant get into the team is a very good player or younis so point is where is reliability in batting

I think it might be a decent move to put a proper batsman / batting all-rounder at 6, and move Afridi up to open with Hafeez. Or drop Sohail Tanvir and play a batsman.

Somethings gotta give somewhere

Hammad Azam seems to me a bright future and can be a very good replacement of Abdul Razzaq

Rahat Ali is making his debut today.I haven't seen him even in any domestic match.Hopefully he will be a promising fast bowler.SL have come with a good intent today. They can put up a good total here

Though Dilshan held one end up...it would have been nice had he scored ATLEAST another 25-30 runs more.....remains to be seen whether that will become crucial if its a tight game.....

Pakistan have no chance of chasing 280. No team has chased down more than 240 in Sri Lanka against Sri Lanka

No problem even then i'll be safe because of Lame ICC anti corruption unit :p But can't trust any newspaper

it's getting a little annoying how many matches mathews plays without getting a knock or if he does a real chance to settle in.

sri lanka should be wanting more from him than that, especially with perera looking an ideal ODI all-rounder.
