we're gonna win the cup

and now there gonna believe us

we're gonna win teh cup

We're on the march with Ashton's Army! We've just stuffed the bloody French!
And we're gonna shake'em up when we win the Webb-Ellis Cup, cos England are the best Rugby team! :happy :happy

Well, we're clearly a worse team than four years ago and yet we're in the final...
It's not been pretty but I guess results are what matter. Bring on the Argies/Saffers.

Really scrappy game but a wins a win.No real stand out player really just a massive team effort as with the other games.Any idea where Chabal went?!

Seems like the French didn't pay the ref enough this time ;)
Definitely wouldn't have picked this English team to make the final so thats quite the achievement for them.

Only if i had put some money on england-they were 60-1 to win it after SA game and now there 5-4

Wow cant belive england are in the final!:O
Looked like tough game against the frence, was exciting near the end of the game.

I'm really still struggling to believe it. To be honest I gave us very little chance yesterday; I had a feeling we could beat Oz, purely because their tight five is so power-puff, but with De Villiers, Ibanez and Milloud making up the French front row it was clear they wouldn't be such a push-over. Clearly my "feelings" are tosh!!

It all started very well with Lewsey's try (missed by yours truly as I was making my way back from the pub's bogs after having a pre-match slash), but after that there seemed to be an air of inevitability about a French victory, albeit one achieved in a distinctictly English style. The French kept their discipline at the breakdowns, giving Jonny only 2 kicks at goal, one from a long way out which he shanked. When he hit the post with that drop attempt it just seemed like it wasn't to be our night.

Then, with about eight or nine minutes left, it looked for all the world as if Clerc would score to put the game beyond us, only to be felled by Worsley's genius ankle-tap. Defining moment of the game for me. Jase Robinson was felled by a high-tackled from Szarzewski right in front of the uprights and Jonny slots his second pen of the night to give us the lead again. Then he puts over that drop, meaning that when France got a penalty in front of the sticks in the final minute they had no choice but to run because we were five up.

Whoooah. Who'da thunk it? :thumbs

Well, as long as the Argies manage to win the cup, then I'll be happy - anything other than that, and I'll bugger off into a shell ;)

Argentina lost that match South Africa didnt win it, the Saffers didnt score a try without an Argie mistake until the 74th minute

Griffo, you do not know what you're talking about so rather just don't even try.

He's not too far off the mark. It was Argentine errors that gifted the Saffers tries rather than pressure of great play by them.
That said they were always the stronger team and took their tries very well.

Steady stuff from the saffers and they'll be starting as favourites for Saturday. The way the Argentines made a mess of the yarps' scrum a couple of times gives us cause for hope, however slight. :upray

Just made up to make the final though, really. One of the greatest turnarounds in sport I can recall.

I'm looking forwards to this game. The boys will be well up for it due to the numerous defeats we've endured at the hands of SA this year. Should be a good game and quite a close one I think.

I saw some weaknesses in the SA team that we can (and will have to) exploit, as well as being as rock solid as we can possibly manage!
