A 5-man attack including Flintoff is a more aggressive option. Flintoff has got runs of late, he doesn't look in good enough form to bat 6. It's an interesting one. However, we still have 3 days here and 3 days down at the Rose Bowl for Fred to impress. I can't see any of the 4 bowlers being dropped, excluding the case of injury.

But Freddie is worth having in the team, just for his bowling, wouldn't you say?

He doesn't usually put the chin strap on but I doubt there is much problem to tighten the strap, even with a beard.

Good morning for England, Smith and Amla both gone. A very good spell from Broad, got Amla with a textbook dismissal. Kallis and McKenzie don't look that comfortable, I sense another wicket before lunch. Anderson has bowled 7.2 overs for 5 runs. Nice and tight, though I would say he has been a bit short, and when pitching it up a little wide outside the off-stump.
