South Africa in England

Tell me about it.

Ah lighten up. It's not as if we've never lost a Test match before.

It's not impossible to win this series. We went one down in New Zealand and won. We went one down in India and tied the series. We went one down in the Ashes and won. Let's not forget that in 2003 we were 1-0 and then 2-1 down against SA and we still managed to claw our way back and tie the series. Don't treat it as a certainty that we're going to lose the series. There's plenty of cricket left yet, just have a bit of faith in the lads.

I know that.

The only reason I am annoyed is our major dip in form. In the first innings of the first test we were amazing, but for some reason, from then, its all been down hill.

Because club sides can make 500 at Lords. It's almost as flat as Taunton these days.

Whenever England bat on pitches that offer at least the slightest assistance to the bowlers they feel sorry for themselves and refuse to bat in the way that they should. Also, when they then get a chance to bowl on the very same pitch they bowl feel even sorrier for themselves when they see the bright sunshine above them.

Have you not learnt about the England cricket team yet? :p

Surely you know this is a classic performance then?

And the best thing about the England cricket team is unpredictability. They could follow this up with another innings defeat or they could actually play well and win two in the row. That's the beauty of being an England cricket supporter. In fact, it's similar with all our national teams.

Yeah one day we could be the best in the world the next day we could lose to Bangladesh. I can see the selectors doing one of two things.

1) Making quite a few changes for the next test
2)Going straight back to the old team.

What I'd like to see is Prior come back into the team for Ambrose, I just don't see Ambrose succeeding at this level but please show me in this innings I'm wrong. Prior isn't the best wicketkeeper but think how much stronger our batting lineup would be with him slotting in front of Freddie. I'd also take Broad out, he's obviously got the potential but he can't stay in the team averaging 50 odd. I'd bring in either Simon Jones or Hoggard.

I know Prior has been doing very well for Sussex but just because he is getting runs, he was actually getting runs before he got dropped!
I think that the reason is becasue a lot of the England bowlers have lost faith in him to actually catch the ball.

I don't think he should have been dropped in the first place to be honest. I thought it was harsh. His keeping this year has been good from what I've heard and his batting is superb.

I'm gonna put it out there but Priors keeping skills were honestly awful on the tour of Sri Lanka

Yeah on the Sri Lanka tour he was appalling admitedly. He dropped countless chances off Sidenottom but I think that he should be allowed a second chance.

He should, if his keeping has improved. Also its do with the trust from the bowlers. If they can trust the man behind the stumps to take there catches there not going to want him they and won't be happy.

I think we should see what Ambrose does in this innings, before passing judgement.

Wow what a surprise.Not

Typical Pietersen 10 minutes till lunch and he can not survive has to go agressive.

Pietersen never does it under pressure and can not grind scores out.

158 at The Oval, 2005 Ashes. Do you want me to name more?
