South Africa in England

Methinks this is last chance saloon for Collingwood. A poor score here could cost him not only his place in the Test side, but his ODI captaincy and possibly his place in that side too. A massive, massive innings for Collingwood this.

Well, the selection policies of England are to blame.

You have Collingwood in the team, after being dropped.

When you're dropped, you're suppoused to go back to county cricket, and regain your form.

Secondly, you have Vaughan - no words.

Strauss has been a struggle during this entire series - another one to go back to domestic cricket possibly? He gets starts, but doesn't carry on.

Ambrose needs to get out of this team as quickly as possible, Chris Read was better with the bat and gloves.

So you're looking at this type of team:

Cook
(Some other opener)
Owais Shah
K Pietersen
I Bell
(Some other batsman - Mark RamprakasH?)
A Flintoff
C Read
R Sidebottom
J Anderson
M Panesar

Give the captaincy to Pietersen, if Flintoff doesn't want it.

And Monty for vice-captain :)

zMario added 0 Minutes and 52 Seconds later...

I'm not sure but it's probably Kevin Pietersen.
Read "full-blooded" :)

As I speak, Collingwood gets a gift from Ntini.

I've said it before and i've said it again, Michael Vaughan won't be dropped.

Chris Read will never play for England again as he is not good enough at Test level.

Mark Ramprakash is a ridiculous selection. He's had more than enough chances with England and he ultimately couldn't hack it. Plus, it's his 87th birthday sometime soon.

Last "full-blooded" Englishman to average over 50? I'd still say it was Pietersen. It's like asking, "Who was the last Pakistan fast bowler not to use steroids?". See, I can troll too.

That joke doesn't work in so many ways, the most obvious reason being that 44<50.

Ahh Touche..If by consistently you can take 3 seasons into account;

Code:
Season Average

season 2006/07 58.00
season 2007/08 85.50
season 2008 66.00

Okay so the question is now who was the last ENGLISH FULL BLOODED person to average over 50? I'd still say Kevin Pietersen. As he is both English and full blooded and has averaged over 50 for England in the past.

Wow, are you ignorant.

Pietersen was born and raised in South Africa, for your kind information.

He is not FULL blooded English. He if anything, is only half-blooded English :)

(Some other batsman - Mark RamprakasH?)
C Read

No and no. Ramprakash is 38 and can't handle any sort of pressure. He started the season brilliantly, getting to 99 FC hundreds but has barely scored a run since.

Read, just no. I've explained why previously in this thread so I can't be be bothered with doing it again.

Gutless performance yet again from the batsmen, I'm sick of it. Poor against India, poor against Sri Lanka, poor against New Zealand and poor in this series. How much longer can this be allowed to continue?

Ahem Pietersens South African.

It matters nothing about full blooded, half blooded, whatever. What is this, Harry Potter? You have to be English to play for the England cricket team. So Kevin Pietersen with his English mother, an Englishman.

Well,Colly looks solid here.I really want him to score good.
Just a partnership of 100 runs would change the game completely.
