South Africa tour of New Zealand, Feb-March 2011/12

W Parnell faced new ball  , well done de Lange great debut , it would have been good if R Peterson, D Steyn or L Tsotsobe would have come in instead of Faf du Plessis , good batting by Albie :cheers:cheers

Well done boys, another good performance and well deserved series win. I must just say that I liked McCullum's concession speech (not being facetious). Very humble and gracious in defeat, as we have come to expect from New Zealanders. Good sports! This is a really good SA team, there is no shame in this loss.

Oh I think there's a little shame in that last one. A side with Parnell opening, Albie Morkel as a specialist number 3 and AB at number 6 only needing to make up numbers. NZ were pretty soft.

I think you should detail a better side. Why are you so angry? I luf u bru.

----------

Mr. angry man, are you Australian by any chance?

What? lol. I think he was having a go at NZ losing to a good yet under under-strength South Africa.

I don't know, as a NZer I have been a bit embarrassed by some of our players in this series. Well only really Southee, the guys a complete tool still sledging batsman after they were caning him all over the park. The way the media talked us up after one good test win and smashing an awful Zimbabwe side was a bit too much for me. I knew we weren't going to be up for it, in the tests its really only a question of whether we can make it into the fifth day.

As much as there is that I could bitch and moan about, I'm not really going to. I think if we had Taylor in our middle order the size of the losses would have definitely been minimised. Williamson/Franklin/de Grandhomme/Ryder as a 4/5/6 in international cricket are plain and simply just not good enough, and Nicol's more or less been found wanting, 12 runs off 40 balls really just set the tone for our innings yesterday. At least in the tests we'll have our two best batsmen back in Taylor and Vettori, as well as Watling, so our batting will definitely have some more substance to it.

The first test will be lucky to go into the 4th day I reckon especially after the awful weather Dunedin's had over the last few weeks. Forecast is for showers all 5 days too.

I bet it will be really hot weather when I'm being a bowling machine for the South Africans Monday Tuesday, then we'll have a rain effected test still finishing within 4 days.

For a moment I thought India was playing some game today :D:D Why did you leave us Guru??

I think there was something in that tea Martin drank... He's on fire!

heh they might want to consider that case. the umpire has totally screwed up that delivery - he missed a no ball and a very plumb lbw - but nz lose a review.

wait, maybe they didn't lose one. getting conflicting reports.

Well bowled Kiwis on the first day although it'll be a different ball game altogether when Kiwi batsmen will be against Steyn, Philander and Morkel.. the kind of inspired performance that was displayed by Kiwis in the post-lunch session is what is required if they want to compete with the top-test playing nations.

Keeping my fingers crossed, especially having seen how Kiwis let the 1-0 advantage slip by in 3-match T20 series.

Taylor, Vettori and Martin add a lot to Nz side. Wish Martin was 27 not 37 because he can't go on forever. He's leading the line well.
