dunno why that's particularly interesting, they've not dealt with their debt crisis either poorly or that well (soldado will be up for sale in summer). sure they've apparently made big inroads but with commodoties like isco, mata, villa, silva and alba they could hardly fail to and they probably have to accept had they kept those guys they could have gone deep in europe which would have brought big monetary rewards as well. Alba going for 14m euros after a storming euro 2012 doesn't seem like the best business deal ever but they at least got good value for most of the others.

They couldn't have hoped to sell him for higher though, Alba wanted Barcelona and Barcelona had already started their DNA job on him.

Llorente did do a decent job for them I think, Albiol was sold for quite a high fee and well, he had to sell those players anyway, so obviously teams weren't going to bid a lot for that bunch, no matter however talented they were.

Phil Ball is season journalist who knows football. So it will be interesting to see how Asier Illarramendi develops.

What a final! Controversial and all, Atletico Madrid beating Real Madrid for the first time since 1999, well played Simeone. :clap

So Simeone has the same number of trophies that 'The Special One' has at Madrid.:spy

Atletico never lose finals, do they? From what I've seen over the decade, they've played in 5 finals and won them all! Also this's their 4th Spanish King's Cup title - all four through beating Real Madrid at the Bernabeu!

Take a bow Simeone, and piss off you not-so-Special one.

Real haven't won a Copa Del Rey in the Bernabeu for ages.
