Sri Lanka A tour of Australia, June-July 2010

There was a tense period after that, with few runs and a couple of lbw shouts. Bailey appeared to develop a balance problem, but also started to find runs. However, he becomes Senanyake's 4th just before lunch. Cruel blow. McDonald at 6. Could be in need of one of those big rescue missions from Wade.

Think that shows the standard of our spinners, the domestic batsmen seem to have no idea against proper spin.

By looking at the Australia A line-up I take it Steve O'Keefe is our frontline spinner? :facepalm

Conditions seem suspicious. Senanayake has gotten batsmen caught at short leg, silly point and leg slip. It all seems unlikely for your average day 1.

They lost another 3 wickets in the middle session, but you could almost call it a recovery. O'Keefe battled well and he found unlikely support in the form of Hilfenhaus, creating the largest partnership of the match so far. The bowling side still looks well on top, but they might be tiring, especially as Senanayake has already bowled more than 20 overs. Can they get the final wickets today, or will the batsmen sneak away from them?

After Senanayake's 8/70 wrapped up Australia A's innings for 208, there was an interesting finish when O'Keefe slipped in a pair of tough maidens and dismissed Paranavitana. It seems like there was a bit of turn and bounce there, so it will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow. With all-rounders Kosala Kulasekara at 7 and Jeevan Mendis at 6, things could very much go the same way again if a couple of top order wickets fall quickly. This may be one of those games where it will pay double to look to attack.

A good return so far by Hilfy. Solid effort with the bat and a great start to bowling.

hey can anyone post a link to see updates on this match?

Not bad by O'Keefe, looks like we might have another batting all rounder although his bowling was pretty good last season. Good knock by Hilfy as well, too bad they got out when Starc came in as he is decent too.

O'Keefe is up to three, a very important trio to have in the form of Paranavitana, Chandimal and then Thirimanne. Now George has found the top of Chamara Silva's off stump. Another interesting morning.
