Sri Lanka in England/Netherlands

I hope it doesn't rain, as Fox Sports are covering this game LIVE.

The sun is shining hear in Staffordshire about 20 miles from Edgebaston, according to weather forecast should have a full days play.

Will report on what i thought of the match later on when i get back.

Have a great day matey! What you wearing? I'll look out for you whilst watching :p

Was it you that said earlier this is your first test match experience? If so should be a cracking day out for you, atmosphere at Edgebaston is always pretty good :cheers

According to cricinfo preview they said we wouldn't get play until lunch. Latest weather report says it's not raining so I would think we should get play underway on time. Will be interesting seeing how this pitch plays out.

Lol I don't know. Last time a captain sent a team in at Edgbaston they were well behind the 8 ball. It would be a test for SL batsmen but Tharanga is in good form, Sangakarra is due for one and Jayawardene did well at Lords. I can't wait to see how Malinga goes against England, his slingly action has caused a few teams problems including a few Englishmen during the tour matches.

Yeah, but he's suggesting that SL win the toss and bat first- alot different ;)
Anyway, it's a similar situation, seeing as there has been torrential rainfall before the Edgbaston test; last time there was a tornado, and that influenced Ponting's decision, right?
Jayasuriya's been left out, so it'll be interesting to see how the opening pair fares against the English attack. Hopefully there isn't too much play lost due to rain, though....

....and hopefully we don't see 'PLAY SUSPENDED DUE TO BAD LIGHT'.

I think that's about as likely as Kevin Pietersen not using the word "fantastic" in an interview.

It just means Fredo won't be blamed if England lose ;)

Hoggard when it swings is one of the best bowlers to opening lefties imo.

Couple of other chances.

Vandoort gloved one, but inbetween Cook at Short leg and bowler Hoggard.

And Sangakarra also gloved one, but short leg wasn't there.

Second down.

Bowled plunkett caught collingwood at gully.

Vandoort gone!

3rd gone, Jayawardene.

Plunkett caught Jones.

Oh definatly. Probably the best swing bowler in the world at the moment. There arn't that many but still. The commentators showed a graphic before and it did show that he has the best percentage of left handers as wickets so I agree.

I saw the potential in Plunkett and hes cashing in now. 2 wicket sin his first over. Good move Flintoff.

Another gone to Hoggard, thats 2 for him now. Great stuff. Samaraweera really needs replacing. Sri Lanka have Jaywardene and Sangakara but the res tof their batsmen are shakey. Down to Dilshan now. Not lookg good for Sri Lanka. Dreadful start.
