India can't lose from here surely.

India have a good enough bowling lineup to protect this total. But Sangakara is is terrific form, Santah could hit form like Tendulkar so who knows.

They actually made the 350 mark.... definitely a mammoth total... I'd like to see how SL plays this one off. The only players that I believe can help them to anything close to that is Jayawardene and Sangakkarra

The highest scores against India are: 359, 359 again both by australia and 349 by NZ. Its going to take a big effort.

If Sri Lanka chase this score it will be the highest run chase EVER. beating Australias 330 vs South Africa in 2001/02

If India lose I can't imagine what will happen. They couldn't possibly stuff this one up.

Guys, you all know what? I watched the whole Indian innings so far (its 3:30AM in the morning for me now and the Indian innings is over!). I am in the US, watching it through Willow.tv

Pathan was awesome too! India has the knack of producing surprises and that too dream surprises! Agarkar once made a 90 batting at No.3! Now its Pathan!

Who said India wont finish off well? I thought so too but Dravid made sure that India finished off with a flourish. I was having 330-340 in mind but 350 is huge! India have just got themselves into the best position possible!

What must Chappell be thinking of now? He didnt express at all to the cameras but he must be extremely happy! I think India got to sink into this batting bonanza soon and get things worked out for the bowling part! India need to win this and win this comfortably! Indian fans wouldnt want a tough tight chase! That wouldnt give confidence to the bowlers! We want a comprehensive win!

I am off to have a wash of my face and have a cup of tea!Promises to be a very very interesting match!

Venugopala Rao didnt play today! So far, all the right moves! Ganguly is out and India has shown supreme batting touch just in the first game! We have been to this situation only to falter at a later stage! IfIndia cant reverse their fortunes this time around, I might as well stop following Indian cricket!

This is an amazing start for Dravid and Chappell. If the bowling goes well India could fly up the rankings and be one of the dominating teams once again. Early days yet but 350 must do somthing for the confidence.

It isn't really a start for Dravid and Chappell. Dravid was also captain during Indian Oil Cup and these matches didn't work out too well. Especially those against Sri Lanka.

But this sure is a promosing series.

i am so happy
i did not think sachin will be at his best straightaway, and pathan was just surprise package
dravid hardly showed any super series blues

i expected nothing, they did everything

and note - only 5 specialist batsmen,1 keeper,5 specialist bowlers(incl Kartik) and an allrounder

still people who can bat till no.9(no.9 was rao)
and 6 bowlers(not incl sachin,veeru,yuvi)

this is a nice combination

I wish Rao isnt thrown away for Ganguly and/or Kaif in haste! Rao should be given chances before he is being handled in/out of the team!

We have 6 bowlers today (incl. Yadav!). Thats amazing! Chappell must have shed blood in coming up with such a great combination! Ideally but sadly too, Rao has to make way for Murali Kartik for the rest of the match! He cant replace any other player!

(Oh gosh! Plz help me calm down! Am I going too ga ga over this 350 by India?).
