The PlanetCricket Battrick Sledging Thread

You mean wonderful guys like this? ;)

4. Darren Ingham - 21 yo, BT Rating=79,779, Wage=?23,435
A destructive RH batsman and a destructive RH wrist spin bowler. He has woeful leadership skills and feeble experience.
He currently has strong batting form, strong bowling form and energetic fitness.
Preference: None. Trait: None.

Stamina: superb Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: quality Concentration: quality
Bowling: wonderful Consistency: wonderful
Fielding: competent

John Texeira - 17 yo, BT Rating=7,688, Wage=?1,677
A defensive RH batsman and an attacking RH wrist spin bowler. He has worthless leadership skills and abysmal experience. He has no preference and no trait.
He currently has proficient batting form, proficient bowling form and moderate fitness.

Or this?

Bwuhahaha, my Chinaman (Parol) took a 5-fer vs. a bot today :p

Mine picked up 10 for the match in the FC.

Don't think the wrist spin actually comes into play yet, but I'll pretend it did.

Battrick - Liechtenstein Angels v Killers CC

Jakester1288 added 0 Minutes and 54 Seconds later...

Fair play to pelican102's mob BTW, his first win against me.

It was my second XI, but he did do well. Now I'm gunna have to lift my game (and beat him next time) or I could be demoting.

First XI next time Benny.

James Penn - 21 yo, BT Rating=94,330, Wage=?43,453

An attacking RH batsman and an attacking RH wrist spin bowler. He has strong leadership skills and woeful experience. He favours Hard and Fast Pitches but has no trait.

Penn now converts himself into a wristie. :)

I've had a hard time managing my finances this season with a significant increase in my players' salaries. Their salaries just seem way above their BT ratings. For example, here are the BT ratings and wages of my top 4 players:

Javaid Khalil - 24 yo, BT Rating=84,769, Wage=?75,937
Christian Mckinley - 24 yo, BT Rating=82,897, Wage=?75,081
Barry Hargreaves - 24 yo, BT Rating=73,256, Wage=?75,958
Rod Rayno - 24 yo, BT Rating=67,105, Wage=?74,324

For comparison, here are the BT ratings and wages for the top 4 players of one of the better teams in Div 1, Phils hotspurs.

Ciaran Kenworthy - 26 yo, BT Rating=160,553, Wage=?88,917
Simon Raven - 28 yo, BT Rating=138,659, Wage=?74,370
Ainsley Tudor - 29 yo, BT Rating=136,558, Wage=?74,291
Fran Forster - 29 yo, BT Rating=126,848, Wage=?60,201

They all have way, way better ratings and skills and my team doesn't even come close to his, but his players' wages are significantly lower than mine in relative terms. I just don't understand how this works.

My top 4 players have miraculous primary skills, btw. His top 4 players have got to be better than that from his team summary.

well your top 4 are all specialists.

3 of his could be considered all rounders, 1 w/k, 2 bowling all rounders. So their primaries may be lower. Wages increase exponentiallyish with skills, i.e. from respectable to proficient may be a 500pw increase, but superb to quality is a 1500 increase. (figures arbitrary and made up)

Also what are the secondariness? Secondariness effect BTR a lot more than they do wage, so if you players have relatively low secondariness, the wage will be less players with higher btr but are skewed towards secondariness

His players could be exceptional/sensational, primaries, with phenomenal secondariness, or something.

I forgot to check form when I looked, than could make the figures look off.

I had a 69k btr specialist bat, with only a 33k pw wage. He is sensational/sensational, in low form. A borderline identical player is in better form, with 81k higher btr and similar wage.

Their secondaries are pretty low, mostly exceptional and wonderful. I just trained them on two primary nets from 17 - 22 or 23. I guess I should have stopped training them at exquisite or masterful. I'm still labouring in the lower divisions in England, so their primary levels are rather unnecessary at this point.

I'm now considering selling them off and getting players with one or two lower skills levels and cheaper wages.

Does seem to be secondaries, with the cumulative effect of them being all rounders with lower primaries, as My players have 2 primary levels lower, but the same BTR, and significantly lower wages.

There is a loose pattern of their btr being twice as high as their wage, while your players have loosely the same wage and btr

BTR is largely affected by training, playing and form, reporters summaries are boosted high due to experience, A general miraculous player has wages of what you have provided below. Play a game with him, see how you stand... have a look into the experience of both teams... BTR and reporters summaries mean nothing,

And if you thought your team is crap, have a look...

Delbert Glasser - 30 yo, BT Rating=306,386, Wage=?201,364
Theo Spiller - 24 yo, BT Rating=76,545, Wage=?47,967
Rajagopal Suren - 23 yo, BT Rating=75,261, Wage=?41,318
Clive Bennie - 34 yo, BT Rating=53,075, Wage=?24,857

Boy... you have reached a long way ahead...
