I think he meant Crouch (Part English), Mccloud and Ardley.

I originally meant McCloud and Ardley but now that i have found out Hoult is also English whereas Crouch is part english as well...

P.S Adarsh i think you should sell Hume after one more season as he's getting too old...he well sell alright now but after about 3 or 4 more seasons his value will drop greatly...

I know. That's a major area of concern for me. Mapes, Hume and Holme are all above 25. However, they are performing very well for me. Maybe I should sell them, I don't know. I think I'll keep Hume. He's hitting centuries week in and week out for me.

I say keep them till they are 30-odd. I mean, unless you get 7 Superb batsmen, these 3 should still be able to make your batting lineup quite easily.

just wondering when does the new season start?
because i wanted to start a new team at battrick and would love to join here.
cheers

A new season starts every 16 weeks in Battrick. Currently it is week 4. A new week starts on Saturdays. Fridays are league games, Sundays are Cup/Friendlies.

I suppose so, but all my top 7 are proficient or above. Very high standards are set! I got a couple of young guys at the start of the season as well, who if trained properly may even get into the U19 internationals! One of them was a first week YP who turned proficient after one net. I've been saving money too. I haven't bought anyone since the end of last season. So far I've got about ?250,000. If I can sell one of them, Mapes or Holme for about ?700,000, then I can buy a millionaire superstar!

How's everyone's games today? Mine is a very important match which I should win in order to secure a 4th place position in my league, atleast. There's one team who are far better than the others. All the other teams are fighting to avoid relegation, so to speak, as they are all very close.
Anyway, I bowled first and Barker got a 5fer and Hoult got 3 to restrict them to 197. And now:

End of Over 35: 160-0, runrate=4.57, reqrunrate=2.53 (197-10)
Christopher 6-0-16-0
Mapes* 63 (116 balls)
Hume 84 (94 balls)

Quite typical really. The usual guys are winning the game for me. These two complement each other so well. Mapes is cautious and Hume is attacking, suits them perfectly. I don't think I'll be parting with them anytime soon, unless I get a great offer!

I won my match quite easily today as well with Akhunzada getting 124 and Harun getting 4 wickets...

End of Over 44: 254-3, runrate=5.77, reqrunrate=16.17 (350-2)
Chavda 7-0-37-1
Tate* 34 (22 balls)
Molewa 27 (32 balls)

batted first

possibly wasted a gfi, however next 3 game si have pretty much no chance, so ill IE and get fitness back to roughly where it was

I won easily by 9 wickets. Bowled them out for 200-odd, Otto taking 4 wickets, and then Heath scored an unbeated 100 and Mason 80-odd not out.

Next week I have a match against a team that are much better than me. I'm going TIE to preserve fitness. However, in the race for 4th place, runrate is very important. So I want to preserve my runrate as much as possible. Therefore, all my bowlers are set to very defensive. I'm not sure whether I should bat first or bowl first. If I bat first, I might score 120 and they'll knock it off in 15 overs and there will be a huge runrate difference (8 - 1.4 = 6.6!!!). Or I could bowl first and they score 350 and I get bowled for a low score again. Which is more effective? I'm thinking bowl first.

I'd bowl first, personally, but as you say you're going to struggle either way to be honest.

Just noticed an amazing coincidence in my league games:

Match 1 - 401950 - Won by 6 wickets
Match 2 - 401955 - Won by 7 wickets
Match 3 - 401962 - Won by 8 wickets
Match 4 - 401963 - Won by 9 wickets

Weird, huh? I bet I'll lose the toss next week so I don't get a chance at the sequence :(
