Lee produces yet another shocking over at the death. I said this during the NZ series, Lee is not a death bowler. Bowl him out before the death overs as Lee chokes during the death. Also his pace means if he doesn't get it right the ball will go flying to the fence.
Yeah and I m truly broke again!!:p Doesn't know when will win any FC game again.

That run out was too tight to call even if 3rd umpire was referred. Some greay late hitting though by Kemp and Boucher. The six was fantastic!! SA's fielding standards has seriously dipped in the last few years. This win will give SA massive confidence and would be fantastic for the series.

Lee once again has shown he is no good at the death. Happened in NZ and now here.

Pft, and you lot moan about our weather, at least here it drizzles before it pours :D

Alem Dar stuffed up big time by not referring that run out. Every single time the umpires refer it and the one time they don't its actually out. it costed them a little bit too.

An umpire is only supposed to refer if there is a appeal i didn't see much of one.

Yeah, there was no real appeal by the Aussies until like 2-3 deliveries later for the runout. The Aussie fielding was brilliant though. The runouts and prevented at least 10 runs.

Yeh Aussies fielding nearly won them the game, Husseys catch was simply brilliant. Set to restart again. Might be difficult batting, will be hard to field though!

Pretty certain the Aussies can't win, but we have seen stuffed up so often in the end and never closing the lid at the end of the game.

Well done Ricky, letting them have singles when they need 5 from 10. Any chance they had was thrown away from that decision.

Oh Come on boys, so mant times Aussies have won in these tight situations (Do I have to point to history now?). If they loose one or two here and there, than nothing bad about it. Punter's still a great captain and did his very best to almost win this one.

They had very little or pretty much no chance of winning considering 5 wickets left and 5 off 10. But it was poor captaincy by Ponting to not bring up the field. Perhaps Mike Hussey can replace him :D

Ponting has such a great record because he has such a great team at his disposal. It was the fielding that nearly won it and not his captaincy. Looks like there will be serious challenge in the world cup for Australia. They don't look so dominant in both forms of the game now.

i am bankrupt due to Aussie's defeat i lost around 10000 vcash :crying
but nevertheless great match, its part of the game

Just saw the result. Earlier I saw Australia being at 109-6 or so. But then I saw the Australian revival bringing them to 228 runs. I thought this could be enough again, but this time it wasn't.

Check out all the money the people lost: http://www.planetcricket.org/forums/vbookie.php?do=viewitem&item_id=301 :laugh 42082 lost! :rtfl :rtfl

If I would be an Englishman, I would be laughing my @ss off now.

Yeah, I suppose he could have pulled the field in when they needed less than a run a ball, but either strategy would have relied on tighter bowling than what was offered.

Nice to see a complete lack of confidence after just one close loss.

Lee I feel couldn't be counted on to bowl well after his tiring innings. Another match where we seem to have placed over confidence in pace bowlers, Stuart Clark having little effect and James Hopes' pies were certainly no help. A quick and nippy Gabba pitch would have proved interesting for wrist spinner Hogg.

There really ought to have been more runs in that pitch, but batsmen on both teams seemed to be throwing wickets away. We'll see what this result means in coming weeks.

I'd personally rather see a serious spinner in the team at every venue except Telstra Dome, where spin doesn't seem to take to the drop-in pitch and maybe the WACA.

Dorey would have been a better sub than Hopes, although untried, he has the ability to hit for a few overs, as Hopes would be required, batting so low and more importantly, could be a strike option.

Katich must be teetering on the brink, with Jaques breathing down his neck. I just wish I could say something similar about the selectors adding a specialist spin bowler.

A tight game but South Africa won it the end, the Aussies were in some kind of trouble but with Husseys occupation and Lees hitting they both got the Aussies to a respectable total, despite the early wickets the South Africans maintained a good run rate and in the end Kemp and Boucher fineshed it off.

The positive thing is that Lee got his highest ODI score. And he is turning more into an allrounder.
